SSC CHSL 2016- Tier I Exam Over All Analysis 22nd January 2017

Today marked the end of the second week of SSC conducting the CHSL Tier I Exam. We are here providing you with an analysis for today's exam to help you improve your preparation level. The online examination took place in three shifts for today's session.

Candidates sat in large numbers for these exams at various centers countrywide. To go through the actual questions first, you can refer to the earlier posts where we have already enumerated the various questions.

Let's Start: SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Analysis (22nd January)

Owing to the user based reviews and the analysis of the exam, it can be said that the paper leveled at moderate for all three sessions.

I.General Intelligence & Reasoning

As in the earlier shifts, the questions that featured today as well maintained an easy level. All the topics nearly remained similar to that of the previous shifts.

Keep in Mind:

  1. With the section being generously easier than the other sections, candidates are advised to practice their hands at the topics that they find tough in this section for acing this section.
  2. As in the previous shifts, a generous time limit of 15 to 18 minutes should be enough for this section and candidates must therefore time themselves accordingly.

II.General Awareness

Encompassing all the general topics for this section, no new surprises were present in this section. This session remained easy today in comparison to the previous days' moderate level. Similar pattern to that of the last week persisted today.

Keep In Mind:

  1. Chemistry gained traction in yesterday's paper and a few questions were present today as well. Candidates are requested to definitely brush up their skills with the basic facts about elements and overall general aspects.
  2. Focus on general sports based knowledge and authors have been reported to show an increase and therefore, candidates must go through this topic as well to gain the extra edge in this section.
  3. For improving prospects in the selection for LDC, clerk and postal assistants’ posts, do try to brush up the knowledge on topics such as polity, general science through the various quizzes on the gradeup App.
  4. Questions are not obscure enough to be labelled as difficult and an attempt of 15 to 17 would be considered well enough. 20 – 22 correct attempts, would definitely boost your chances at selection.

III. Quantitative Aptitude

Overall level for this section again remained easy for a majority of the aspirants but the section again was supposedly time intensive.

Keep In Mind:

  1. SI and CI, along with profit and loss, populated the paper today as well. Although a majority of the questions remained easy today, a few were said to be calculation intensive as well.
  2. Aspirants must imperatively devote time for a brief review on the basics of the trigonometric identities and formulae, as one question from this section surely pops up in the paper.
  3. The aspirants are thereby directed to go through the basics, here itself on the gradeup App. Although direct questions are being asked, still, it’s advised to the candidate to focus on miscellaneous topics, giving it ample time for revision.
  4. As always, a practiced mind was imperative for the calculation part, and a good attempt of 18 to 20 questions could have been completed within 25 to 30 minutes.

The level of this section remained moderate again today for most. The level today was reported to be well above average for today.

Keep In Mind:

  1. Please brush up the past quizzes to gain an overview on the topics of idioms and one word substitution.
  2. The topics of narration and voice, along with cloze test/passage test remain present in the paper surely. Candidates are thus suggested to improve their skills in these topics.
  3. As mentioned already, boosting up your vocabulary would help you gain the upper hand over others in this section, and with the increasing competition, this seems to be the best bet.
  4. A well attempted section for today would be 18-20.
