RRB Assistant Loco Pilot/ Technician Frequently Asked Questions 2018

Q1. I want to fill the application form, what are the essential requirements for online registration?

A1: Candidates should have an active mobile number as well as a valid email id. He/she keep his id and mobile number active in the complete recruitment process.

Q2: I don't know the procedure for the registration!

A2: You have to enter all the essential details in the column provided. After filling all the details, an OTP will be sent to the Mobile number and email id for the verification. You have to fill the OTP to validate your registration details.

Q3: After registration, Can I edit the details?

A3: Yes, you can edit the details except for your email id, mobile number and State you applied for.

Q4: How can I login?

A4: RRB will send a registration id & password to your registered email id. Use that credentials and log-in.

Q5: How can I get to know that my application is submitted successfully?

A5: Your application will get submitted after you complete all the details. You will also be able to preview & take out a print of your application.

Q6: I have not received OTP. What should I do?

A6: Check if you are entering the correct mobile number & you are connected to the internet. You can use the option of re-send OTP if you have inserted the correct number.

Q7: What are the total number of vacancies in RRB CEN No 01/2018 ?

A7: There is a total of 26502 vacancies for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (17673) & Technicians (8829).

Q8: I forgot my password, how can I recover it?

A8: Your password will be your Date of Birth in DDMMYYYY format. For example, if your Date of Birth is 1 September 1992. Your password will be 01091992.

Q9: What is the selection procedure of RRB CEN 01/2018?

A9: RRB CEN 01/2018 recruitment process will involve the First stage CBT, Second stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test and Document Verification as applicable. First stage CBT (Computer Based Test) will be common for ALP & Technician posts. Computer-Based Aptitude Test will be only for the candidates who have opted for Assistant Loco Pilot.

Q10: What is the minimum age to apply for this job?

A10: Age Limit is same for both RRB ALP and Technician Posts which are 18-28 years as per 01.07.2018. However, there is some relaxation for some categories as per the notification norms.

Q11: What are the essential educational qualifications needed to apply for this job?

A11: For Technician: Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of post you are applying for 
(OR) Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship

For Assistant Loco Pilot: Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of post you are applying for

OR Diploma in Engineering OR Degree in Engineering

Important Note: If you studied Physics & Maths subjects in 12th class, you can apply for Technician Grade III Signal & Telecommunication posts. (Post no: 70, 71)

Q12: What are the documents needed at the time of application registration?

A12: At the time of registration, you should keep ready the following

  1. Scanned passport size photo(15kb-40kb) with name and date printed on it.
  2. Scanned Caste certificate (50kb to 100kb). (if applicable)
  3. Scanned passport size photo of the scribe (15kb-40kb). (if applicable)

Please note that the documents should be in JPG/JPEG format.

Q13: I am not sure if I belong to OBC creamy layer or Non-creamy layer. How can I confirm it?

A13: The total income of the family of the OBC-Non Creamy Layer candidate should not be more than 8 Lakhs.

Q14: What is the application Fees?

Note: The fee of Rs. 250 for S.No. 1 to 6 shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in First Stage CBT.

Q15: What to do if I lost my SSLC/SSC/Matriculation Certificate?

A15: You cannot register without entering SSLC/Matric roll no & passing year. If you get selected for DV round, you have to show the original/Duplicate certificate to the board.

Q16: Will I be allowed to edit the details after successful registration?

A16: Yes, but you will be charged for the same. You have to pay Rs 250 (Non-refundable). You can do it just twice.

Q17: I am waiting for my final results, Can I apply?

A17:  Those awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply. If your final result will be out on or before 5 March 2018, you will be eligible to apply.

Note: Candidates applying for RRB ALP/ Technician posts should note that the application is common for all the RRBs.
The option of RRB zones and the preference for the posts  within the opted RRB shall be taken after 1st Stage Computer Based Test.
