Here we are providing the quant booster on the triangle for SSC CGL Tier 2. Triangle is the most important chapter of the Quant section and usually, covers 2 to 3 questions in mains exam. Triangle is the basic of every topic. Questions based on the application of triangle in the circle are generally asked in the exam. Here we will discuss the type of questions that are important as per exam perspective.
Type I: We are given the side of the triangle and we have to find the type of triangle.
e.g. If the side of a triangle are in the ratio of 3:4:6 then find the type of triangle.
Type II: In this type, the questions are related to circumcentre, incentre, orthocentre.
e.g.In a triangle, if orthocentre, circumcentre, and centroid coincide then the triangle must be.
Type III:To find the type of triangle on the basis of the position of circumcentre, incentre, orthocentre.
e.g. Find the type of triangle if circumcentre of a triangle lies outside it, then the triangle is.
Type IV:To find the inradius or circumradius of the triangle when sides of the triangle are given .
e.g. If the sides of the triangle are 12,13 and 5 then find the length of circumradius or inradius.
Type V:To find the measure of angle when the value of the angle related to orthocentre, incentre or circumcentre are given.
e.g :
1.In triangle ABC, if the bisectors of angle B and angle C meet at O then find the measure of angle BOC if angle A is 60 degree.
2. Find the measure of angle A if D is circumcentre of triangle and angle BDC is 50 degree.
Type VI. Question related to median
e.g.
1.G is the centroid fo the equilateral triangle ABC. If AB =10 cm then the length of AG.
2.If three median of a triangle are same then find the type of triangle
3. Find the area of a triangle if the lengths of the median of a triangle are given.
4. If the median drawn on the base of a triangle is half of its base then the type of triangle is .
5. BL and CM are medians of triangle ABC an right angle at A and BC=5cm. If BL = 6 cm then the length of CM is
6. Find the measure of various smaller triangle and quadrilateral formed inside a bigger triangle due to the centroid.
Type VII. Questions related to Equilateral triangle
e.g.
1.Find the height of the triangle if the length of its side is 6 cm.
2. Find the height of a triangle if the length of perpendicular from opposite vertex to the corresponding sides are P1, P2 and P3
3. Find the in-radius or circumradius of a triangle if the height of the triangle is 6 cm.
4. If the length of the median of an equilateral triangle is 9 cm then find the length of inradius of a triangle.
TypeVIII . Questions based on the similarity of the triangle.
Type IX. Questions based on congruency of triangles.
Type VII and IX are the most important question for Tier II exam so practice a large number of questions related to them.
