Last Month Preparation Strategy For RRB NTPC Exam. The official dates for the RRB NTPC Exam are out and it is going to commence from 28th December 2020. With a few days left, most of the students must be anxious on what should be their strategy in the last days. To help you out and ease your nerve we have come up with some tricks that will help you plan better in the last days of preparation.

Before moving further, first let us pay attention to the exam pattern. Let us now discuss the detailed RRB NTPC Exam section-wise structure for the CBT Test.

  • The total duration of CBT will be 90 minutes.
  • General awareness and General Science plays a key role in selection.
  • There shall be negative marking for the questions which are answered incorrectly answers and 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for the same.

General Science & General Awareness

  1. Current Affairs carries good weight in railway exams therefore revise all the current affairs diligently.
  2. The level of the questions can be very basic such as from recent appointments, famous personalities, PM visit, State festival, Books and authors, awards etc.
  3. Students must go through the last one year current affairs, along with that important awards, important books & authors, places in the news, persons in the news, important sports tournaments, information related to important world organizations like G20 Summits, ASEAN, UN Security Council etc. must be studied for last year as well.
  4. For General Science, it would be better to revise all the Physics, Chemistry & Biology questions. For this you can refer to the 8+ Important PDF for RRB NTPC exams.
  5. The main topics that must be focused on are as follows:Periodic Table , Force , Work, Power &  Energy ( Basic Units and numerical), Chemical Reactions( Types of chemical reaction & Important reactions), Optics (Eye, Types of lenses & mirrors and their uses also basic numerical based on mirror and lens formulae), Different Systems of Human Body, Parts of flower, diseases related to deficiency of vitamins etc. are some important topic which should be taken care.

Mathematics

  1. In this section, you can secure full marks if prepared with right strategy.
  2. In the last days, your focus should be on mental calculations. Do not leave practise at this stage. Practise questions without lifting your pen. 
  3. Go through the basics and the formulas again and again.
  4. Important topics from the Maths Section are Percentage, Simple Interest and compound interest (formulae based ) , Profit and Loss, Time & Work, Pipes and Cistern ( Moderate level questions from this topic ), Basic Trigonometry, Basic Quadratic equation based questions, LCM, HCF, Square root, Basic Number System, Basic Statistics, Basic Graphs etc. are the important topics.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

  1. Reasoning section can be scored easily by daily practise of quizzes.
  2. Do not leave number series and analogy questions at any stage of the exam preparation. 
  3. To minimize the time duration of solving questions,  candidates must solve as many questions that one can solve because once you become familiar with the patterns by practising the different types of questions, you will be able to score good marks.
  4. The important topics to cover are Statements & Assertions(Most Frequently Asked Topic ), Clocks, Calendar, Logical Reasoning, Mirror and Water Images, Series, Age-related questions, Distance & Directions etc.

Revision is necessary

Revision fortifies the foundation of preparation. Without revision, one is not able to secure good marks. Therefore, list down the important topics and revise them bit by bit in time bound manner. For topics which are easy to forget, take help of GK sticky notes and paste them on your refrigerator or almirah or anywhere in your room. At the end of the day, try to remember, revise what all you learned. For other subjects like Maths & Reasoning, always revise intermittently. Eg. Start with Speed, Time & Distance Topic of Maths and then switch to other reasoning topic say Coding-Decoding. This way, you will not feel overburdened.

  • Follow the mantra of taking one mock a day
  • Analyse it fully for any weak area or areas that took more time than normal
  • Note down the topics and mistakes committed
  • Make a graph of your advancement in marks
  • Find the shortest approach to a problem
