Which book is good for GATE Preparation?

Answer: ”Higher Engineering Mathematics” By B. S. Grewal.

How to read the book for GATE preparation?

Answer:

  • There is no reading in maths, only problem solving and practice. So practice all the related topics relevant to the GATE syllabus.
  • Revise already studied (short)notes for every topic covering all important points and formulas while practising the problems.
  • Practice the previous year GATE problems after every topic completion.

How many days or months are required to complete the syllabus?

Answer: It may take a minimum of 1 month for beginners. But every aspirant could have studied engineering mathematics in their undergraduate courses, so it is easier to complete in less than 20 days with the preparation of 2 to 3 hours per day.

How to practice remembering the concepts and formulas?

Answer: Do not waste your time reading many books. Follow the recommended book and practice a minimum of two times to remember the concepts and revise the formulas every week. Make flashcards and short notes and keep looking at them at intervals of time.

Important tips to remember for preparation and revision

Only studying for preparation of the subject is not enough for the GATE Exam; practice previous year GATE Questions and attempt as many online practice tests to understand/ remember/ revise the concepts.
