ESE Mechanical Eligibility Criteria 2022

The ESE IES Mechanical Eligibility Criteria 2022 is decided by the UPSC. Candidates in large numbers apply for the Engineering Service Exam for the Mechanical Engineering branch. To appear for the ESE ME exam, you must fill up the application form correctly by knowing the eligibility requirements. The UPSC ESE Eligibility Criteria for the Mechanical branch include educational qualification, age limit, and nationality. ESE/IES ME Nationality

The first and foremost eligibility criteria for the ESE ME is nationality. You must be an either be:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. An Indian origin person who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam and permanently settled in India.
  5. Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 and has settled permanently in India

However, if you belong to either 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5, then you must have a certificate of eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

ESE Mechanical Educational Qualification

You must fulfill any one of the following educational qualifications to apply for the ESE ME 2022 Exam. If you are in your final year of engineering, then you can apply for the ESE ME 2022 exam. However, you will be required to produce the qualifying certificate while filling up the DAF application form.

  • You must have obtained a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
  •  You must have passed Sections A and B of  the Institution Examinations of the Institution  of  Engineers  (India)
  • You must have obtained a Degree or Diploma in Engineering from a foreign university/college/institution and such university must be recognized by the government for the purpose from time to time
  • You must have passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India)
  • You must have passed  Associate Membership Examination  Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India
  • If you wish to apply for Indian Naval Armament Service must have either or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

The upper age limit is relaxable for the following category of candidates as per the government of India.

ESE ME Age Relaxation for Govt. Servants

The upper age limit is relaxable up to 35 years for the government servants who are employed in any one of the following categories. If they are employed in a Department/ Office under the control of any of the authorities mentioned in column 1  below and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of the Service(s)/Post(s) mentioned in column 2, for which they are otherwise eligible.

ESE ME Medical Standard

  • Candidates who will be recommended to jong the Engineering Services Examination 2022, will be asked to undergo a medical examination.
  • The medical examination for the ESE ME 2022 will be conducted by the Ministry of Railways in various Railway Hospitals. 
  • The decision by the Railway Board will be final and binding for all allotment purposes. 
  • Candidates availing the persons with disabilities reservation will be required to produce the certificates in the correct format and date.
  • Further, if any candiate is found to be unfit, he/she will be rejected for the recruitment purpose.
