UPSC ESE/IES Exam Centers 2023 For Prelims and Mains Exam

Union Public Service Commission has provided the list of UPSC ESE/IES exam centers in its official notification released on 14th September 2022. The candidates can find UPSC IES exam centers mentioned in the official notification of IES 2023 available on the UPSC website upsc.gov.in. Candidates are asked about ESE exam centers in the application form to be filled out.

UPSC ESE (Engineering Service Exam) is a very lucrative exam conducted to recruit Engineers for technical works in the Central Government of India. It is very competitive as thousands of students take this exam, which is conducted once a year. The list of UPSC ESE/IES exam centers 2023 is released with the official announcement. UPSC ESE/IES Mains Exam Centers

The exam centers for Prelims and Mains are not the same. The UPSC IES Mains Exam is conducted at 24 centers. Following is the list of those 24 Mains IES exam Centers.

IES Exam Centers Allocation

The authorities determine the final allocation of seats. The seats are assigned based on a first-come-first basis. Thus the students are instructed to fill up the application form as soon as possible. All the IES exam centers, excluding Nagpur, Dispur, Chennai, and Kolkata, have limited seats.

Thus they are frozen after the seats are loaded. Once the center is frozen, the aspirants are given a second chance to choose another center. The candidates have to be very meticulous while choosing the exam center. They won't be permitted to change their preference except in the restricted number of seats.

How to Change the IES Exam Centers?

In case the candidates want to modify the IES exam centers chosen by them while filling up the application, they can do so with the following steps:

  • Go to the authorized website of UPSC at www.upsconline.nic.in
  • Find the online request link for a change of examination center and click on it.
  • Find the Engineering services Main row in the table, and go to the column To change the exam center.
  • Click on the link given there.
  • Read the instructions given on the page that has opened.
  • Check the box with Yes at the bottom.
  • Your login details will be asked for.
  • Enter the roll number/registration number and fill in the captcha asked.
  • The registered email id and mobile number will obtain an OTP.
  • Enter the OTP and log in.
  • Change the exam center as your wish and submit.
  • Your exam center will be changed.
