- After the LSB
- In the parity word
- After the odd parity bit
Table of content
Answer – A. Before the MSB
The parity bit is placed just before the MSB.
Solution
When we use even parity, the parity bit is provided in the detailed solution to the question.
A binary code string is called a parity bit, sometimes a check bit. A specific type of error-detecting code is parity bits.
In the case of even parity, the parity bit value is 0 if the number of 1s is even. The parity bit is 1 if the number of 1s is odd.
In the case of odd parity, if there are odder 1s than even ones, the parity bit value is 0. The parity bit is 1 if the number of 1s is even.
Parity often takes up the 9th-bit slot. Therefore, it should come before MSB.
Hence, Option (A) is the correct answer.
