The full form of PNB is Punjab National Bank. Punjab underwent explosive growth under British rule, especially after annexation in 1849, leading to the emergence of a new educated class motivated by a desire to be free of the yoke of slavery. On May 19, 1894, PNB was born. The bank first opened its doors on April 12, 1895.

He is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Punjab National Bank, a banker with over 35 years of expertise. In 1985, he began his banking career as a probationary officer with the Bank of Maharashtra.

The Punjab National Bank (PNB), India’s first Swadeshi bank, began operations on April 12, 1895, in Lahore, with a Rs 2 lac authorized capital and a Rs 20,000 working capital. The bank was founded in the spirit of nationalism, and it was the first bank entirely managed by Indians and wholly funded by Indian money. Its headquarters are in Dwarka, New Delhi, India.

PNB, based in New Delhi, offers a comprehensive range of financial and banking services, including credit and debit cards, savings and current accounts, loans, and investments. The bank has 6989 branches and 9255 ATMs across the country (as of March 2019).

PNB offers two types of current accounts to meet the demands of its customers. Individuals, firms, HUFs, and companies can use a PNB current account for frequent financial transactions.
