Segments of ADCB

The three segments in which the bank operates are wholesale banking, property management, and investment and treasury.

• Wholesale Banking: Business banking, cash management, trade finance, corporate finance, small and medium firm financing, investment banking, Islamic financing, infrastructure, asset finance, and government and public companies are all part of the wholesale banking market.
• Property Management: The property management segment includes the group’s real estate management, engineering service businesses, and rental income from its buildings.
• Investment and Treasury: Central treasury operations, management of the group’s investment portfolio and interest rate, currency, commodities derivatives portfolio, and Islamic financing are part of investment and treasury.

Key points about ADCB

1. The Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) owns around 60.2% per cent of ADCB while individuals and businesses own the rest.
2. ADCB is the UAE’s third-largest bank in terms of balance sheet size, and it provides a wide range of business and retail banking services to its customers.
3. As of September 30, 2018, ADCB has over 5,000 employees representing retail and corporate customers.
4. ADCB has 56 branches in the United Arab Emirates.
5. ADCB operates out of regional offices in Singapore and London.
6. In January 2019, ADCB, Union National Bank (UNB), and Al Hilal Bank accounted for a three-bank merger.
7. Although Al Hilal Bank operates as an independent Islamic bank under the new brand name, the combined bank operates as ADCB.
8. With over 1 million customers, ADCB is the region’s fifth-largest bank.
