Find the answer and give a detailed explanation to the question – If a 2mV signal produces a 2V output, what is the voltage gain____?

  1. 0.001
  2. 0.004
  3. 100
  4. 1000

Answer–D. 1000

The answer to the question, ‘if a 2mV signal produces a 2V output’, is that the gain is 1000.

Solution

The input signal to the voltage amplifier is given as

                                                           Vin=2mV

The amplifier produces output signal as

                                                            Vout = 2V

The Voltage gain can be calculated as

A2/2mV=22 × 102000/= 1000V/V

Therefore, If a 2mV signal produces a 2V output, the gain is 1000. Hence, Option (D) is the correct answer.
