Solution

Nose crossing is of two types one is Actual nose of crossing (ANC) and other one is the Theoretical nose of crossing (TNC). Actual nose of crossing is the toe of the blunt nose while Theoretical nose of crossing is the theoretical point where gauge faces from both sides intersect.

Wing rail is the nose of the crossing which helps to channelise the wheel of the train at proper route. It is provided at crossings. To avoid the damage to the nose of the crossing, the wing rails are ramped so that the nose of the crossing remains at a lower level by 3 mm.
