IES Civil Engineering 2023: Exam Date, Notification PDF

The UPSC has released the important date for the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam. The schedule for the IES exam 2023 is given below.

The number of vacancies for the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam is 127, which is liable to alteration. A total of 327 vacancies are released in this session of the IES exam. Here is the detailed description of the ESE IES Civil Engineering vacancy 2023.

The candidates who will fill these vacancies in the UPSC ESE IES Civil Engineering field will be appointed in the following services/cadres-

• Central Engineering Service
• AEE(QSC) in MES Surveyor Cadre.
• Central Water Engineering (Group ‘A’) Service.
• Central Engineering Service (Roads), Group‐A
• Indian Defence Service of Engineers.
• Survey of India Group ‘A’ Service.
• AEE(Civil) in Border Road Engineering Service.

IES Civil Engineering application process 2023 has ended. More than 4 Lakh candidates registered for the IES exam this year. The online application for IES CE remained active till 4 October 2022. To fill out the application form candidates followed the below-mentioned steps.

• Step 1: Registration for UPSC ESE 2023.
• Step 2: Uploading of photograph, signature, and identity proof.
• Step 3: Completing the application form.
• Step 4: Payment of application fee.
• Step 5: Confirmation and Submission of the application form.

Application Fee for ESE IES Civil Engineering 2023

All the candidates who applied for the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam had to pay the application fee per their category.

• General/ OBC candidates: ₹ 200/-
• Women, SC, ST, and PWD candidates: Exempted.

The IES eligibility criteria for Civil Engineering require the candidates to fulfill the following criteria:

• Nationality
• Age Limit
• Educational Qualification

We have described each of the ESE CE eligibility criteria below.

ESE CE Nationality

The candidate who applied for the UPSC ESE CE 2023 must be a citizen of either of the following:

1. A citizen of India, or
2. A subject of Nepal, or
3. A subject of Bhutan, or
4. Tibetan refugees who came to India before the 1st of January 1962 to permanently settle in India, or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia, or from Vietnam to permanently set in India.

The candidates belonging to the (b),(c), (d), and (e) categories listed above must have a certificate issued by the Government of India.

ESE CE Age Limit

The minimum age limit for the UPSC ESE CE is 21 years, while the maximum age limit must be between 21 to 30 years on January 1, 2023. This means that you must not be born before 2nd January 1991 and not later than 1st January 2000.

ESE CE Age Relaxation

Apart from this, age relaxation is given to the following category of candidates.

Age Relaxation for UPSC ESE/IES

The upper age limit will be relaxable up to 35 years for government servants in any of the following categories. If they are employed in a Department/ Office under the control of any of the authorities mentioned in column 1 below and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of the Service(s)/Post(s) mentioned in column 2, for which they are otherwise eligible.

ESE CE Educational Qualification

Candidates had to fulfill any one of the following eligibility criteria to apply for the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam:

• Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
• Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of Engineers (India).
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering from a foreign university or college or institution and such university must be recognized by the government for the purpose from time to time.
• Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India).
• Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/ Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India.
• Candidates in their final year or waiting for their examination results are also eligible to apply for the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam.

The IES Civil Engineering selection process 2023 recruitment involves three stages. Every candidate will have to obtain the cutoff score to be eligible for an appointment based on his/her merit. The merit list will be based on the marks secured by him/ her in each stage of the IES Civil Engineering exam.

• Stage 1: Preliminary Examination
• Stage 2: Mains Examination
• Stage 3: Interview

IES Civil Engineering Exam Pattern For Prelims

The Prelims exam was the first stage of the UPSC ESE IES exam recruitment process.

• The questions in the IES Civil Engineering Prelims exam were objective.
• All the questions were set in English Language only.
• The Prelims exam comprised two papers- Paper I and Paper II.
• 1/3rd of marks were deducted for every wrong answer marked by candidates.

IES Civil Engineering Exam Pattern For Mains

The ESE CE Mains exam comprises two papers that will only involve questions related to Civil Engineering.

• The questions in the IES Civil Engineering Mains exam will have conventional questions.
• If your handwriting is illegible, there is a deduction of up to 5% of the maximum marks.
• All the IES Civil Engineering Mains exam questions will be set in English Language only.

IES Civil Engineering Personality Test

Candidates who qualify for the ESE CE Mains exam will be called to appear for the Interview round.

• The IES Civil Engineering Personality test will carry a total of 200 marks.
• In this round, the candidates will be judged on their leadership capabilities, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of practical application, and integrity of character that will be required to perform the job of a Civil Engineer in the various ministries of the Government.

UPSC will release the admit card for ESE CE 2023 Mains soon. All the candidates who cleared the Prelims of the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam will be issued Admit Card for the ESE CE Mains exam. Candidates can download the hall ticket for the IES Civil Engineering 2023 exam from the official website.

Another admit card will be issued to those candidates who will appear for the Personality Test or Interview for the UPSC ESE CE exam 2023 on clearing the Mains exam. Candidates need to download the IES Civil Engineering admit card 2023 by entering their registration number and password.

IES Civil Engineering Result 2023 will be released on the official website only. Candidates can check their results by looking for their roll number in the PDF of the released result. Candidates need to visit the official site of the UPSC to check the IES Civil Engineering Result 2023.
