ESE IES Civil Engineering Eligibility Criteria 2022

The ESE IES Civil Eligibility Criteria 2022 is decided by the exam conducting body which is, the UPSC. We have provided you with the detail of the eligibility requirement that you need to know before you begin to apply for the ESE IES Civil 2022 exam. The UPSC ESE CE Eligibility Criteria comprise fulfillment of the following:

  • Nationality
  • ESE IES CE Age Limit
  • ESE IES CE Educational Qualification
  • Medical Standard

ESE IES Civil Nationality

The candidates belonging to any one of the following are eligible to apply for the ESE/IES CE 2022.

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. An Indian origin person who has migrated from Burma, Pakistan, the United Republic of Tanzania, Sri Lanka, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia or Vietnam and permanently settled in India.
  5. Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962 and has settled permanently in India

If you belong to either 2, 3, 4, or 5, then you must have a certificate of eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

ESE IES CE Age Limit

You should be within the age limit of 21 years to 30 years.

Age Relaxation for ESE/IES CE

The following candidates will receive age relaxation as per the govt. of India.

Up to 3 years

Jammu and Kashmir domicile during

Up to 5 years

Defence Services personnel, disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area, and released as a consequence thereof

Up to 3 years

ECOs/SSCOs served for 5 years in Military services (Completed the assignment or assignment has been extended and the Ministry of Defence has permitted him to apply for Civil Services)

Up to 5 years

Deaf/Mute and Orthopedically handicapped person

Up to 10 years

ESE IES CE Educational Qualification

The educational qualification for ESE/IES CE 2022 is as follows. You must fulfill any one of the educational qualifications for ESE Civil Engineering.

  • You must have obtained a Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
  •  You must have passed Sections A and B of  the Institution Examinations of the Institution  of  Engineers  (India)
  • You must have obtained a Degree or Diploma in Engineering from a foreign university/college/institution and such university must be recognized by the government for the purpose from time to time
  • You must have passed the Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India)
  • You must have passed  Associate Membership Examination  Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India
  • If you wish to apply for the Indian Naval Armament Service must have either or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

ESE CE Medical Standard

  • The candidates who will be employed as Civil Engineer in the UPSC ESE/IES will under medical test.
  • The medical test for UPSC ESE CE will be conducted by the Ministry of Railways.
  • If any candidate is found to be unfit for UPSC ESE CE, then he or she will be disqualified.
  • Candidates belonging to the PwD category will have to produce the required documents.
