List of Government Schemes for NABARD Grade-A

‘SWAMITVA Scheme’

  • Launch Year: 2020.
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
  • SWAMITVA stands for Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas.
  • It is a Central Sector Scheme, launched in April 2020 to promote a socio-economically empowered and self-reliant rural India.
  • The Scheme will ensure the demarcation of inhabited land in rural areas across India
  • Earlier, it was launched only for 9 states in which about 4.09 lakh property owners were given their e-property cards, in more than 5 thousand villages under this.

Seed Minikit Programme

  • Launch Year: 2021.
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.
  • Minikits (higher-yielding varieties of seeds) of Pulses and oilseeds to farmers were distributed.
  • It is a major tool for introducing new varieties of seeds in the farmers’ fields and is instrumental for increasing the seed replacement rate.

Agriculture Infrastructure Fund

  • Launch Year: 2020
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare.
  • Aim: To provide medium-long term debt financing facility for investment in viable projects for post-harvest management Infrastructure and community farming assets
  • Who will be benefitted? Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), Marketing Cooperative Societies, Farmer Producers Organizations (FPOs), Self Help Group (SHG), Farmers, Joint Liability Groups (JLG), Multipurpose Cooperative Societies, Agri-entrepreneurs, Start-ups, Aggregation Infrastructure Providers and Central/State agency or Local Body sponsored Public-Private Partnership Project.
  • Total corpus: Rs. 1 Lakh Crore
  • Duration: 2020 to 2029.
  • Moratorium Period: 6 months to 2 years.
  • Interest Subvention: Loans will have interest subvention of 3% per annum up to a limit of Rs. 2 crore for maximum 7 years.

Sahakar Mitra: Scheme on Internship Programme

  • Launch Year: 2020
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare
  • Objective: To help cooperative institutions access innovative ideas of young professionals while the interns will gain experience of working in the field to be self-reliant.
  • It is an initiative by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)
  • Stipend: Each intern will get financial support over a 4 months internship period.

Yuva Sahakar: Cooperative Enterprise Support and Innovation Scheme

  • Launch Year: 2019
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
  • Formulated by: National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC)
  • Aim: To motivate and promote the entrepreneurs of India in the Cooperative Enterprise and those individuals working for business.
  • Who will be benefitted? For candidates under the special category such as women or Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or PwD, NCDC provides 80% of the total cost of the project. For candidates belonging to another category that is candidates who do not come under the special class, NCDC provides 70% of the total cost of the project. All kinds of cooperatives in operation for at least one year are eligible.

CHC Farm Machinery App

  • Launch Year: 2019
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
  • Aim: Facilitating agricultural mechanization in the country by encouraging small & marginal farmers to take machines on rental basis for agriculture practices without them having to purchase the high priced such machines.

PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi)

  • Launch Year: 2019
  • Related Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
  • It is a Central Sector Scheme with 100% Aadhar authenticated Beneficiaries.
  • Aim: To supplement the financial needs of the Small and Marginal Farmers (SMFs) in procuring various inputs to ensure proper crop health and appropriate yields, commensurate with the anticipated farm income at the end of each crop cycle.
  • Beneficiaries: All land holding eligible farmer families (subject to the prevalent exclusion criteria) are to avail of the benefits under this scheme.
  • Benefits: All landholding farmers’ families shall be provided the financial benefit of Rs. 6000 per annum per family payable in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 each, every four months

Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan

  • Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare
  • Aim: To ensure that farmers get remunerative prices for their produce.
  • Government has approved a new umbrella scheme “Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan” (PM-AASHA) which will provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) assurance to farmers.
  • It has 3 components:
    • Price Support Scheme (PSS): Under this, physical procurement of pulses, oilseeds and copra will be done by Central Related Agencies. Besides National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED), FCI will also take up procurement of crops under PSS. The expenditure and losses due to procurement would be borne by the Centre.
    • Price Deficiency Payment Scheme (PDPS): This will cover all oilseeds for which MSP is notified and Centre will pay the difference between the MSP and actual selling/ model price to the farmer directly into his bank account. Farmers who sell their crops in recognized mandis within the notified period can benefit from it.
    • Pilot of Private Procurement and Stockiest Scheme (PPSS): In the case of oilseeds, the States will have the option to roll out PPSS in select districts where a private player can procure crops at MSP when market prices drop below MSP. The private player will then be compensated through a service charge up to a maximum of 15% of the MSP of the crop.

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana

  • Launched: 2015
  • Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare
  • Aim: To achieve convergence of investments in irrigation at the field level, enhance recharge of aquifers and introduce sustainable water conservation practices, explore the feasibility of reusing treated municipal waste water for periurban agriculture attracting greater private investments.
  • It has 4 components:
    • Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Program (AIBP): To concentrate on speedier fulfillment of continuous Major and Medium Irrigation including National Projects.
    • Har Khet Ko Pani (HKKP): Creation of new water sources through minor water system (both surface and groundwater)
    • Repair, reclamation, and redesign of conventional water bodies
    • Charge range advancement
    • Fortifying and production of dispersion organized from sources to the ranch
    • Creating and rejuvenating traditional water storage systems like Jal Mandir (Gujarat); Khatri, Kuhl (H.P.); Zabo (Nagaland); Eri, Ooranis (T.N.); Dongs (Assam); Katas, Bandhas (Odisha and M.P.), etc. at feasible locations.
    • Per Drop More Crop (PDMC): Improving the efficiency of water usage by various initiatives like precision water application devices, construction of micro-irrigation structures to supplement source creation activities including tube wells and dug wells, etc
    • Watershed Development (WD): Ridge territory treatment, seepage line treatment, soil and dampness protection, water reaping and other watershed intercessions.
