ESE Mains Exam Analysis 2022 for Civil Engineering- Highlights 26 June 2022 

The major highlights for the IES ESE Mains exam analysis 2022 for Civil Engineering will help candidates organise the exam flow. Paper 1
Building Materials	1- Most Questions were Tough & Unconventional Questions
Strength of Materials	1- Questions from Building Materials were Easy to Moderate. 2- UPSC asked No Questions from BM & Deflection topic.
Structural Analysis	1- As per highlights question No. 2 (c) – Easy, 3 (C) – Moderate, 1 (d) – Difficult  2- All were direct concept based questions.
Design of Steel Structures	1- 4 Numerical Questions and 1 theoretical question.  2 – Mostly Questions were time-consuming.
Design of Concrete & Masonry structures	1- 3 questions were Easy, and 1 Question was Tough (from IS Code). 2- Mostly Questions were time-consuming.
Construction Practice, Planning and Mgmt.	1- Most Questions were Tough & Unconventional Questions. 2- UPSC asked one question from Estimation & Costing.
Paper 2
Fluid Mechanics	Questions were very Easy. Directly from Previous Years. The theoretical portion was quite easy.
Open Channel flow	Questions were asked from Rapidly Varied Flow.
Hydraulic Machines	1 theoretical question, 1 Numerical question- easy
Geotechnical Engineering	UPSC asked questions from expected portions.
Highway Engineering	Easy questions, Directly from Previous Years The theoretical portion was quite easy
Railway, Airport and Tunnelling	Questions from expected portions
Environmental Engineering	One question from the distribution System. Other questions were easy.
Surveying	UPSC asked questions from remote Sensing
Engineering Hydrology	UPSC asked an easy question was asked from this part.

IES ESE Mains 2022 Subject Wise Analysis for Paper-1

As per the UPSC ESE Mains exam analysis, 2022 for Civil Engineering building materials carried 96 marks, and the strength of materials carried 44 marks, while Structural Analysis had the highest percentage in the exam.
