(1) 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in the air

(2) 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in 16 grams of O2

(3) 2 moles of Carbon is burnt in 16 gram of O2

The amount of CO2 that could be produced when 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in the air is 44g, 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in 16 grams of O2 is 22g and 2 moles of Carbon is burnt in 16 gram of O2 is 44g

Step 1: Calculation of the amount of Carbon dioxide (CO2)

When 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in the air

C + O2 → CO2

1 mole of Carbon produces 1 mole of CO2 which is 44g of CO2 as the molar mass of CO2 is 44 g.

1 mole of Carbon is burnt in 16g of Dioxygen O2

32g of O2 = 44g of CO2

1g of O2 = 44/32

16g of O2 = 44/32 x 16

16g of O2 = 22g of CO2 in one mole

2 moles of Carbon burnt in 16g of Dioxygen O2 will produce 22 x 2g of CO2

2 moles of Carbon burnt in 16g of Dioxygen O2 will generate 44g of CO2

Functions of Carbon dioxide

  1. The main component of all proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates is carbon. Carbon can form a variety of bonds with other elements thanks to its molecular structure. The carbon cycle shows how carbon moves through both living and non-living elements of the environment.
  2. The most important greenhouse gas released by human activity is carbon dioxide (CO2). The main component of all proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates is carbon. Due to the flexibility of its molecular structure, carbon can form bonds with many other elements. The carbon cycle shows how carbon moves throughout the globe, in both living and non-living things.
  3. Carbon dioxide is necessary for both respiration and photosynthesis, two fundamental activities in both plants and animals. Green plants transform carbon dioxide and water into food substances like glucose and oxygen.

Summary:-

Calculate the Amount of Co2 That Could Be Produced When (1) 1 Mole of Carbon is Burnt in the Air (2) 1 Mole of Carbon is Burnt in 16 Grams of O2 (3) 2 Moles of Carbon is Burnt in 16 Gram of O2

The amount of CO2 that could be produced when 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in the air is 44g, 1 mole of Carbon is burnt in 16 grams of O2 is 22g and 2 moles of Carbon is burnt in 16 gram of O2 is 44g
