- ‘Power of the Dog’ was nominated for 12 categories, followed by ‘Dune’.

About Oscars Awards (Academy Awards)
- They are considered as the most prestigious and significant awards in the entertainment industry worldwide.
- It is given annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
- It consists of a golden statuette as a trophy, officially called the “Academy Award of Merit”, which depicts a knight rendered in the Art Deco style.
- The trophy was originally sculpted by George Stanley from a design sketch by Cedric Gibbons.
- It was first presented in 1929 at a private dinner hosted by Douglas Fairbanks.
- It was first broadcast by radio in 1930 and was televised in 1953 for the first time.
- It is the oldest worldwide entertainment awards ceremony.
- Since its inception, total of 3,140 Oscar statuettes have been awarded.
