Given
Time is taken by A to do a piece of work = 20 days
Time is taken by B to do a piece of work = 30 days
Time is taken by C to do a piece of work = 60 days
We have to find the number of days A can do the work if he is assisted by B and C every third day
A’s work in 2 days = 1/20 x 2 = 1/10
A + B + C work in 1 day = 1/20 + 1/30 + 1/60
= 6/60
= 1/10
So the work done in 3 days = 1/10 + 1/10 = ⅕
In 3 days, ⅕ work is done
Entire work will be done in = 3 x 5 = 15 days
Therefore, in 15 days A can do the work if he is assisted by B and C every third day.
Summary:
A, B, and C can do a piece of work in 20, 30, and 60 days respectively. In how many days can A do the work if he is assisted by B and C every third day? (a). 5 days (b). 20 days (c). 10 days (d). 15 days
A, B, and C can do a piece of work in 20, 30, and 60 days respectively. In 15 days A can do the work if he is assisted by B and C every third day.
