SSC JE Exam Pattern 2022

SSC JE Exam Pattern 2022: The Staff Service Commission (SSC) releases the SSC JE exam pattern 2022 in its official notification. Through the SSC JE exam, the candidates are appointed in the Group-’B’ posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying, and Contract domain. However, in order to be eligible for the selection, you must have good knowledge of the SSC Junior Engineer exam pattern in detail.

The SSC JE exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. SSC JE Paper 1 has only objective-type questions while Paper 2 has only descriptive or written questions. Candidates qualifying for Paper 1 will be appearing for the Paper 2 exam. We have discussed the latest SSC JE exam pattern in detail in this post. SSC JE 2022 Exam Pattern for Paper 1

SSC JE paper 1 is a tier 1 exam. Qualifying SSC JE paper 1 will enable you to appear for SSC JE paper 2.

  • The SSC JE Paper 1 is an online test with objective multiple-choice questions.
  • There are three parts to the SSC JE paper 1.
  • The SSC Junior Engineer general engineering paper will have questions from the engineering discipline chosen by the candidates while filling up the application form.
  • There will be 200 questions of 200 marks whereby, each question will be for 1 mark each. 
  • All the questions will be set in both English and Hindi.
  • The General Engineering discipline will have the maximum weightage, which is 100 marks.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer marked by you in the SSC JE Paper 1 online test.

SSC JE Exam Pattern for Paper 2

Candidates obtaining the SSC JE cut off marks in the Paper 1 as per their category will be appearing for SSC JE Paper 2. The SSC JE Paper 2 exam will be a written or descriptive test.

  • Only one paper will be there in SSC JE paper 2 having questions from the relevant engineering discipline.
  • The SSC JE Paper 2 will have questions where you will have to answer in offline mode.
  • The paper will have questions only from the core engineering branch opted by you.
  • Further, the duration of the SSC JE Paper 2 exam will be 2 hours for 300 marks paper. 
  • There will not be negative marking in the SSC Junior Engineer Paper 2 exam. 
  • You can write the answers in SSC JE Paper 2 in either English or Hindi. However, you must not write a part paper in English or Hindi otherwise you will be awarded zero marks.
