Answer writing challenge : Indian Economy.

The question for this week’s challenge is from paper 3 of the GS. The Indian economy is primarily an agriculture-based economy. It contributes around 18% of the total GDP and employs 50% of the total workforce. The government has embarked on a path to transform agriculture and has brought forth several efforts to encourage investment in the Food processing sector. Let us look into the question for the week now:

Food processing industry in India is one of the most important components of the sunshine sector. Explain its role in the Indian economy with respect to investment opportunities and employment generation.
