HPSC HCS 2022 - Post Preference Form, HCS Mains Exam Date

HCS Post Preference form 2022 has been re-released by HPSC for the candidates who have qualified the Prelims exam. The candidates who could not fill the post preference form earlier have been given another chance to fill out the form from 21 to 30 November 2022. HCS Prelims exam was on 24 July 2022 and the Main exam was on 29 and 30 October 2022. Through this exam, HPSC shall be filling up a total of 156 vacancies in the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) Executive Branch & Allied Services Examination 2021. Haryana PCS notification 2021-2022 was released by Haryana Public Service Commission on the official website for HCS exam. through the HCS exam the candidates will be selected for Group A posts in HPSC. A total of 155 vacancies (revised) will be filled up through this exam for posts such as HCS (Ex. Br.), DSP, ETO, District Food & Supplies Controller, and other distinguished posts. Initially, HPSC had released a total of 156 vacancies, however, the vacancy for the post of Asstt. Registrar Co. Op. Societies (ARCS) was canceled at a later stage.

Many candidates must be thinking that “What is HCS full form? So the full form of HCS is Haryana Civil Services. It is a combined competitive exam conducted in the Haryana state to recruit eligible candidates for multiple posts in the state offices such as:

The HCS Exam is conducted in three phases. The first stage is the prelims exam which is an objective test and is used as a screening exam for the next stage HCS Mains Exam. Recently, HPSC announced negative marking in the Prelims Exam and made the CSAT paper qualifying in nature. Now the HPSC HCS Exam will follow the same pattern as the UPSC CSE exam. The candidates who qualify for the HPSC mains exam are called for the final round, the Interview.

HPSC shall be filling up a total of 155 vacancies for HPSC HCS 2021-2022 recruitment. Initially, 156 vacancies were released, however, one vacancy got canceled at a later stage. Below you can check out the updated HCS vacancy 2022 for each post.

The candidates applying for HCS 2022 exam must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria as stated in the notification pdf. Haryana PCS Eligibility Criteria consists of the fulfillment of age limit and educational qualifications. Failing to meet the HCS eligibility criteria, candidates' application form will be rejected.

HCS Nationality

The applicant must be either:-

1. An Indian Citizen
2. a subject of Nepal, or
3. a subject of Bhutan, or
4. A refugee from Tibet and came to India before 01 Jan 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

The age limit eligibility for Haryana PCS exam must be calculated on or before 01.01.2021

For all the posts except DSP

• Minimum Age- 18 years
• Maximum Age - 42 years

For the post of DSP

• Minimum Age- 18 years
• Maximum Age - 27 years

HPSC Educational Qualification

Applicant must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce or an equivalent degree from a recognized University as on 02.04.2021 (Closing date).

How Many Attempts Are There for HCS?

There is no limitation on the number of attempts for HCS. There is only an upper age limit for all categories. 

Haryana Public Service Commission conducts the HCS (Ex. Br.) And Allied Services Examination as per the vacancies. HPSC HCS Selection Process is a three-stage process:

1. HCS Prelims Exam: This is the first stage. Candidates who clear the prelims exam are eligible for the Mains Exam. 
2. HCS Mains Exam: The Mains Exam is descriptive in nature. This stage shortlists candidates for the interview round. No candidate shall qualify for the Personality Test unless he/she obtains at least 45% marks in the aggregate of all written papers and a score of a minimum 33% marks each in Hindi (including Hindi Essay) in Devnagri script and English (including English essay) papers (compulsory papers).  
3. Personality Test: This is the final stage. A final list of selected candidates is published after this round. Mains & Interview marks are added for the final selection.

Following combinations of subjects are not allowed:

1. Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
2. Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science;
3. English Literature, Hindi Literature, Sanskrit Literature, and Punjabi Literature;
4. Of the Engineering subjects viz. Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering –not more than one subject.

It consists of two papers i.e. General Studies & General Aptitude.

HCS General Studies Paper

It includes the following subjects:

• General Science.

• History of India and Indian National Movement.

HCS General Aptitude Paper

It includes:

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability

• Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, the order of magnitude, etc. – Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. – Class X level)

HCS Mains Syllabus

The Mains Exam consists of 3 compulsory papers. 

• English and English Essay
• Hindi and Hindi Essay

English and English Essay Syllabus

This section is designed to examine the applicant's knowledge of reading & comprehending the language. The topics include:

• Precis Writing
• Comprehension of given passages
• Essay
• Usage and Vocabulary
• General Grammar/Composition

Hindi and Hindi Essay Syllabus

The exam will follow the Devnagri script. The topics include

• Translation of English passage into Hindi
• Letter/Precis writing
• Explanation of Hindi passage (prose and poetry) in the same language
• Composition (idioms, correction etc.)
• Essay on a specific topic. The choice of subjects will be given

HCS Optional Syllabus List

There are a total of 29 subjects. 

The next step after the application in the recruitment process is HCS admit card. Only the candidates who have filled the HPSC HCS Application will be able to download the admit card from the official. It should keep in mind that without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the examination. How to download the HCS Admit Card

To download the HPSC Admit Card for the Prelims Exam 2021-2022, follow the steps mentioned below.

HPSC Mains Admit Card 2022

After qualifying for the HPSC Prelims Exam, HCS Mains admit card will be released. Candidates who qualify for the prelims exam and fill out the Mains application form can download the admit card. 

After the commencement of the HCS prelims exam 2022, the Haryana Public Service Commission released HCS Final Answer key for the prelims exam on their official website. Candidates who have appeared in the exam can check out the HCS Answer key and calculate their score on the basis of which they can determine their chances to qualify for the exam.
