JKPSC Selection Process 2021

The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) conducts the JKPSC Exam 2021 for various vacancies each year. The JKPSC Selection Process 2021 consists of three phases. The three stages of the JKPSC Selection Process are Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, and Personal Interview. For final selection, candidates are required to clear all stages of the JKPSC 2021. All interested candidates must understand the selection procedure thoroughly to prepare effectively for JKPSC Exam 2021. JKPSC Prelims Exam Pattern 2021

The JKPSC Prelims Exam 2021 is the first stage of the JKPSC Selection Process 2021 consisting of two papers. Each paper contains objective questions. The marks scored in the JKPSC Prelims examination are evaluated, and only those who cleared the exam can write the JKPSC Mains Exam 2021. 

The prelims stage determines the knowledge and time management of the candidates. Both papers in prelims contain Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). The total marks for the preliminary examination are 450. The medium of the question paper of JKPSC Prelims Exam 2021 is English. The marks obtained in the preliminary are just for screening purposes and will not be considered for the final result. The total duration of the prelims exam will be 2 hours per paper. There are no negative markings whatsoever in the prelims.

JKPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2021

JKPSC Mains Exam 2021 is also known as the JKPSC Phase 2 Exam. The test is subjective. It is the second stage of the JKPSC Selection Process 2021, and it contains 8 papers that intend to test the candidate's intellectual power and depth of understanding. The marks scored in the papers will be considered while preparing the final merit list. 

Only those candidates who have cleared the Prelims exam are eligible to write the mains exam. Each paper in the JKPSC mains will have a total duration of 3 hours. The questions for all mains papers (except the language subjects) will be in English. The total mark for the entire Mains exam is 2250. JKPSC KAS Interview 2021

The JKPSC Interview is the final stage in the JKPSC Selection Process 2021. Those candidates who cleared both prelims and mains exams are called for the Interview. The Interview is conducted to evaluate the mental caliber of the candidate. Rather than checking the person's knowledge, the Interview is more focused on testing the social traits of the candidates and the emotional and intellectual maturity with which they make decisions. Candidates are also tested on their mental awareness, the balance of judgment, moral integrity, etc.

JKPSC KAS Selection Process FAQs

  • The JKPSC written exams have not introduced the negative markings concept. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers and unattempted answers.

  • It is advised that the candidates work on their knowledge of the current affairs of the country and the state in particular. Candidates are also advised to go through the subjects covered in the written exam. Referring to good books that help in preparing for interviews can also boost your preparation.

  • You need to score cut-off marks in each of the exams of JKPSC KAS Mains to get selected for the Interview round.

  • Voter's Card/Bank Passbook with photograph/PAN Card/ Passport/ Permanent Driving Licence/ Aadhaar card/ E-Aadhaar card with a photograph/valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized college/university/ Employee ID can be used for verification during JKPSC Exam 2021

  • The JKPSC Prelims exam has two papers.
