Important Highlights of GATE ME 2022 Morning Shift

The first session of the GATE Mechanical Engineering 2022 Paper was conducted in the forenoon between (9.00 am- 12.00 pm). Candidates had to carry their Admit Cards to enter the examination hall. There were 5 M.S.Q.s (multiple select), 25 MCQs (multiple select questions), and 35 N.A.T. (Numerical Answer Type) questions in the first shift of the GATE mechanical 2022 exam.

  • The overall difficulty level of the first shift of GATE mechanical paper was Moderate to Tough.
  • There were 5 M.S.Q.s (Multiple select) questions in the first paper shift. All these questions were theoretical-type questions.
  • Manufacturing Engineering & Heat Transfer had the highest weightage in the mechanical first shift of the GATE 2022 paper.
  • Questions asked from the General Aptitude portion were Easy in the first shift.
  • The level of questions from Engineering Mathematics was Moderate, with 15 marks on the paper.

Important Highlights of GATE ME 2022 Afternoon Shift

  • The overall difficulty level of the second shift of GATE mechanical paper was Moderate to Tough.
  • There were 6 MSQs (multiple select), 35 MCQs (multiple select questions), and 24 NAT (Numerical Answer Type) questions in the second shift of the GATE mechanical 2022 exam.
  • This shift had more MCQs comparing the first shift of GATE mechanical paper.
  • Subjects like Engineering Mechanics, SOM, Industrial, Manufacturing & HMT carried the maximum weightage in the paper.
  • Questions asked from the General Aptitude portion were Easy in the second shift.
  • The level of questions from Engineering Mathematics was Moderate in the second shift, also which carried 15 marks in the paper.

Difficulty Level: Shift -1 & Shift- 2 GATE ME 2022 Exam

The Difficulty level of the first shift for the mechanical exam was Moderate to Tough. The paper was Tough this year compared to the previous year's paper. The Difficulty level of the Second shift for the mechanical exam was also Moderate to Tough. The paper had more MCQs as compared to the first shift.
