The first session of the GATE Mechanical Engineering 2021 Paper was conducted between (9.30 am- 12.30 pm). Here are the subject wise marks and question distribution based on the reviews from BYJU'S Exam Prep users: -

  • Set 1 of GATE ME was above Moderate.
  • There were 0 MSQs.
  • There were around 32+ NAT questions that tested each candidate's preparations and were a bit lengthy.
  • Manufacturing & Thermodynamics were the subjects with high weightage with the application based questions.
  • From Engineering Mechanics, Production Engineering & Engineering Mathematics difficult and unique questions were asked.
  • 8-10 questions were theoretical and the rest were numerically based.

The second session of GATE Mechanical Engineering 2020 Paper was conducted between (2.30 pm- 5.30 pm). Here is the subject wise marks and question distribution based on the reviews from BYJU'S Exam Prep users

  • The overall level of the paper for Shift-2 was above Tough.
  • There were no MSQs.
  • 28 NATs out of which 10 questions were 1 marker and the rest were 2 markers.
