A glycosidic bond is formed by the process of reaction of the hemiacetal of a saccharide with the hydroxyl group of another substance, such as alcohol. The formation of the Glycosidic bond is due to the condensation reaction between the anomeric form of another sugar and the hydroxyl oxygen atom on carbon on one sugar.
