A trolley, while going down an inclined plane, has an acceleration of 2cms-2. The velocity 3s after the start is 0.06 ms-1

Step 1: Given that

Time t = 3s

Acceleration a = 2cms-2 = 0.02 ms-2

Initial velocity u = 0 ms-1

Let Final velocity be v

Step 2: Formula to calculate final velocity is

v = u + at

Step 3: Calculation of velocity

Using the first equation of motion

v = u + at

Substituting the values we get

v = 0 + 0.02 ms-2 x 3s

On simplification we get

v = 0.06 ms-1

### Velocity

Velocity is the rate at which the position of an item shifts with respect to time and a frame of reference. The act of travelling swiftly in one direction is all that velocity is, despite its sophisticated appearance. The definition of velocity calls for both magnitude (speed) and direction because it is a vector quantity. The metre per second is the SI equivalent (ms-1). If a body’s velocity varies in either direction or magnitude, it is said to be accelerating.

Initial and Final Velocity

The initial velocity of an object determines how quickly it moves when gravitational force is applied. On the other hand, the final velocity is a vector number that represents the speed and direction of a moving body after it has experienced its maximum acceleration.

Hence, the velocity of the trolley after 3s is 0.06 ms-1

Summary:-

## A Trolley, While Going Down an Inclined Plane, Has an Acceleration of 2cms-2. What Will Be Its Velocity 3s After the Start?

A trolley, while going down an inclined plane, has an acceleration of 2cms-2. Therefore the velocity 3s after the start is 0.06 ms-1
