The National Institute of Immunology (NII) is an independent research institute based in New Delhi, under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) for research in immunology. It has its origins in the IIMMR-WHО Immunology Research and Training Center of the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (IIIMS), Delhi, which merged with NII in 1982. NII is currently looking for candidates to fill the two vacant posts (Project Research Associate – III and Technician – I) under one project through the interview process. “Multi-stage malaria vaccine candidates for the prevention of Plasmodium falciparum infection in mosquito and pre-erythrocytic development in man” funded by BIRAC.

Job Description: Mouse Immunization, Characterization of immune responses. FACS, ELISA, ELISPOT, sporozoite neutralization assays. Mouse challenge with malaria parasites. Parasite load determination by qPCR. Mouse challenge with transgenic malaria parasites. To ensure timely completion of research objectives. Coordination among the SRFs related to their work and data collection, analysis and compilation, Report preparation, Reporting of project progress with PI and other project partners.

Education Qualification:

Doctorate in any branch of biology/life sciences.
At least three years of postdoctoral research experience and 5 research publications in international journals.
Demonstrated ability to manage large projects or independent funding/grants.
Hands up experience in handling animals is essential.
People experienced in immunological tests or Priority will be given to work related to vaccines.

Job Description: Rearing mosquitoes, mosquito infection with malaria parasites, Helping other researchers with animal or lab work. Helping lab members with stock maintenance, ordering, repairs etc.

Education Qualification:

10 + 2 exams approved with biology.
Diplomas in the subjects of Medical Technology or B.Sc. in Biological Sciences.
Minimum of two years of driving experience with mosquitoes.
Minimum of one year of experience in handling small animals (mouse/rat/rabbit, etc.).

Emoluments: The seleсted саndidаtes will drаw соnsоlidаted emоluments аs рer DST ОM dаted 30.01.2019 (Аs sаnсtiоned by the funding аgenсy).

Rs. 25,000/- per month consolidated

Time Duration of Project: Tenable till- February 2024

Interested candidates may apply directly, by email, to the Project Investigator, clearly indicating the name of the project with its complete C.V., E-mail-ID, fax numbers, telephone numbers.
Candidates can share their Resume with all the documents on singhap@nii.ac.in on or before 09-09-2021.
Shortlisted candidates on the list will be called for an interview and must present with an original copy of everything.
A Demand Draft of Rs 100 /- drawn on Canara Bank or Indian Bank payable in Delhi / New Delhi in favour of Director, NII (SC/ST/PH and female candidates are exempt payment of fees) upon presentation of supporting documents), at the time of the interview.

Note:

No applications will be accepted after the due date, i.e. 09-09-2021.

Requests containing incomplete information cannot be entertaining.
The date of completion of the exams must be clearly indicated in the application form.

NII Recruitment 2021 – Terms and Conditions

Candidates selected for the mentioned positions will have one year or the project, whichever is shorter, at the same time.
No shelter/accommodation will be provided during the project period.
Applicants can clearly mention the category to which they belong, eg SC/ST/OBC/ PH and attach documentary evidence of it.
No TA / DA will be paid to candidates participate in the interview if requested.
In addition to submitting the application in the prescribed format below, applicants must submit a full curriculum vitae with the names of three referees.
The Curriculum vitae should contain details of experimental skills and a list of publications.
Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email of the date and time of the Interviews.
Interviews with selected candidates will be conducted by online video conference tools.
Misleading in any form will be considered a disqualification.
