The Kerala SET exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 22, 2023. The exam is conducted to select candidates for the position of Higher Secondary School Teacher and Vocational Teacher in VHSE.

The Kerala SET exam covers a total of 31 subjects. It is an offline examination which consists of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both of the papers comprise multiple-choice questions. Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer. The only exception is for Mathematics and Statistics subjects of Paper 2 wherein each correct answer fetches 1.5 marks and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. What is Kerala SET?

Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, conducts the Kerala SET exam to recruit knowledgeable Higher Secondary School Teachers in the State of Kerala. The exam is of a four-hour duration. As part of the Kerala SET exam, candidates have to give two papers. While Paper 1 is common for all candidates, Paper 2 contains questions from the subject in which the candidate had a specialisation at the post-graduation level. Candidates can select from a list of 31 subjects to give the Paper 2 exam.

Candidates should have a B.Ed. Degree.

English

Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in Communicative English with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. degree.

Hindi

Because universities in Kerala acknowledge the degree, candidates who have earned a B.Ed. in Hindi from the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempt from submitting an equivalence certificate.

Latin

Candidates must have earned at least 50% of the possible marks in Paper 2 of the degree exam in any discipline (from any university in Kerala or from an institution recognized as an equivalent).

These eligibility criteria hold only if you have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for Paper 2.

Who is not eligible to apply for Kerala SET 2023?

Candidates are ineligible to apply for Kerala SET 2023 if they received their degrees from non-accredited open universities or correspondence courses in Kerala or elsewhere. Candidates must also seek and provide certificates of recognition and equivalency from any of Kerala's universities if they have earned their qualifications through accredited correspondence courses or open universities.

The Kerala SET 2023 exam pattern is made up of Paper 1 and Paper 2. Following the Kerala SET exam pattern, multiple-choice questions are included in both papers.
