Kerala SET Exam dates 2021 announced. The Kerala State Eligibility Test (SET) July 2021 Exam will be held on 14 August 2021. LBS Centre for Science and Technology has announced the latest Kerala SET Exam Date on its official website.

What is SET exam in Kerala?

Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET) is a state-level examination conducted to shortlist eligible teachers for the higher secondary level courses to be taught in the State of Kerala. If you wish to be appointed as teachers in the Higher Secondary Schools and Non-Vocational courses in VHSE have to clear the Kerala SET that is organized by the Government of Kerala. To take the Kerala SET exam, you need to hold a Master’s degree with B.Ed. The Kerala SET exam consists of two stages: Paper I and Paper-II. Kerala SET Paper I comprises General Knowledge and Aptitude common for all the candidates while Paper II comprises Specialized subjects.

  • The Kerala SET Exam is conducted by The LBS Centre for Science and Technology , Thiruvananthapuram.
  • The exam is conduted twice in a year, February and July.

Kerala SET Eligibility Criteria 2021

Before you can proceed to apply online for the Kerala SET 2021 application, you must make sure that you fulfil the eligibility criteria as laid down by the LBS Centre for Science & Technology. Here are the educational qualification requirement, age limit to apply for the LBS Kerala SET 2021

Kerala SET Educational Qualification

  • You must hold a Master’s degree in a particular subject.
  • You must make sure that you have secured at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade.
  • You should also have a B.Ed degree in any discipline from any recognized in Kerala or any other university at par with this university.
  • If you are in your final year and possess a B.Ed degree then you can apply for the Kerala SET 2021.

Should have MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Instituted of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.

Botany and Zoology

  • MSc Ed degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Instituted of Education that is sponsored by NCERT.

Or

  • MSc Ed degree in Life Science with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Institutes of Education

Anthropology, Commerce, French, Gandhian Studies, Geology, German, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics and Syriac

  • B.Ed degree

English

  • Master’s Degree in Communicative English with at least 50% marks as well as BEd degree.

Hindi

According to the official website of Kerala SET, “Candidates who have acquired BEd Degree in Hindi conducted by the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempted from the requirement of producing the equivalency certificate, as the degree has been recognized by the Universities in Kerala’.

Latin

  • Cleared degree exam in any discipline (from any University in Kerala or recognized as equivalent) with Latin as second language under Paper II wherein with at least 50% marks. 
  • This eligibility criteria hold true only if you have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for that Part II.

Who are ineligible to apply for Kerala SET?

The following candidates are ineligible to apply for the Kerala SET 2021 Exam.

  • If you have obtained your qualifications through non-recognized correspondence courses or open universities in Kerala or anywhere else.
  • If you have acquired your qualifications through recognized correspondence courses or open universities, then you must obtain and furnish certificates or recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Kerala.

Age Limit for Kerala SET

There is no prescribed age limit to appear for the Kerala SET exam 2021.

How to apply for Kerala SET 2021?

The application forms for Kerala SET 2021 have been released on the official website. ee have given the application process for the Kerala State Eligibility Test 2021 below. There are three main steps to apply for the Kerala SET 2021 as stated below:

Step 1: Kerala SET Registration

  • Visit the official site of Kerala SET.
  • Click on the online registration link.
  • As you are applying for the first times, therefore, you need to have a registration number and password.
  • As you click on the ‘new registration’ link, you have to provide your mobile number, email Id.
  • You will receive an OTP on you mobile number and email address.
  • Verify that OTP by entering it in the space provided.
  • You will receive a registration number.

Step 2: Complete Kerala SET application form

  • Proceed to finish your Kerala SET application form 2021.
  • Provide the details in the space provided such as educational qualification, personal details, Exam Centre preference, Category, etc.
  • Once you have furnished all the details, make sure to verify it by previewing it.

Step 3: Pay Kerala SET application fee

  • Once you have completed the application procedure for the Kerala SET, pay the required amount of the application fee.

Kerala SET Exam Pattern 2021

The Kerala SET comprises of two papers, i.e. Paper I and Paper-II. Paper I is common to all the candidates whereas Paper II is subject-related chosen by you. 

  • The Kerala SET exam is conducted in offline mode.
  • All the questions are objective multiple-choice questions.
  • The duration of the Kerala SET is 2 hours for each paper.
  • There is no negative marking for any paper.
  • 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer except for mathematics and statistics where you will be given 1.5 marks for every question.

Kerala SET Admit Card 2021

All the candidates who have completed the application process for the Kerala SET successfully will be issued an admit card. The admit card will have your name, date of birth, category, your photograph and signature as uploaded in the application form, exam details, and exam instructions.

Kerala Revised Answer Key 2021 released. Earlier, LBS Kerala SET Answer Key was Released for Feb 2020 exam on 08 February 2021. The Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET) was conducted on 10 January 2021. The LBS Centre for Science & Technology will soon announce the final Kerala SET Result 2021 on its official website.

Kerala SET Result 2021

The Kerala SET Result 2021 will be released after the release of the answer key. The result for the Kerala SET 2021 will be announced on the official site of the Kerala State Eligibility Test. All the candidates who secure the minimum cutoff marks will be issued a certificate. With the help of the Kerala SET certificate, you can apply for the post of the higher secondary school teacher in various schools of Kerala.

Issue of Kerala SET certificate

All the candidates who are declared qualified in the Kerala SET will have to produce the qualifying certificates within one year from the date of publication of the Kerala SET Result. 

  • If you apply for the SET certificate beyond one year from the date of release of the result will have to pay Rs. 500 for the next year and an additional amount of Rs. 250 for each subsequent year.
  • The fee has to be paid as Demand Draft drawn from a nationalized bank in favour of the Director, LBS Centre for Science and Technology payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
