Eligibility for the ACSIR Admissions 2023
The candidates can check the information given below to ensure their eligibility for ACSIR Admissions 2023 for different courses.
Eligibility Criteria for PhD (Sciences) and Sponsored PhD (Sciences)
PhD (Sciences) –
- The candidates must have a Master’s degree in Science or any equivalent to be eligible to apply. The candidate must have a valid National level fellowship (JRF/ SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. UGC, CSIR, DST, DBT, etc.) or any equivalent fellowship like RGNF, INSPIRE, etc.
- Any candidate working on the post of Project Assistants, Group-IV Scientists, Senior Research Fellows, and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR are also eligible to apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).
Sponsored PhD (Sciences) –
- The candidates having a Master’s degree in the field of Science or any other equivalent degree are eligible to apply with endorsement from Academic, Industry, or Research Institutes for the required financial support and academic leave during the program.
- The applicants who are qualifying for their degree in percentage will use the formula, CGPA=(Percentage + 5) /10. Applicants with a percentage ≥ 95%, must fill 10 CGPA in the Online Application Form.
Eligibility Criteria for PhD (Engineering) and Sponsored PhD (Engineering) –
(i) The candidate must have a Master’s degree in the field of Engineering or Technology along with a four-year technology/engineering or 4/5 year of science degree, or an M Tech degree that is integrated for minimum-5-year, or equivalent.
AND
(ii) The candidate must have at least one of the following
(a)Meeting all the conditions required for eligibility for the CSIR-SRF
(b)Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for industry-sponsored* students.
(c)Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for Project Assistants to register for a PhD
(d) Meeting all the conditions for the award of the INSPIRE fellowship (typically awarded to students ranked first in the University)
(e)Awarded a national-level fellowship (such as NET JRF) tenable at CSIR institutes
The candidates working on the post of Senior Research Fellows, Project Assistants, Group-III Technical Staff, and Group-IV Scientists of CSIR are also eligible to apply.
Eligibility criteria for IDDP (Integrated M.Tech-Ph.D) Program –
(i) The candidate must have a 4-year undergraduate degree in the field of Science andEngineering (such as BE/BS/BTech), a five-year degree in Science (such as MSc), or any other equivalent degree.
AND
(ii) The candidate must have at least one of the following
(a) Meeting all the conditions for the award of the INSPIRE fellowship (typically awarded to students ranked first in the University)
(b) fulfilling all the required conditions for eligibility for the CSIR-GATE-JRF
(c) fulfilling all the stipulated conditions by AcSIR for industry-sponsored students.
(d) Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for Project Assistants to register for a PhD
(e) Awarded a national-level fellowship (such as NET JRF) tenable at CSIR institutes
The candidates working on the post of Senior Research Fellows, Project Assistants, Group-III Technical Staff, and Group-IV Scientists of CSIR are also eligible to apply.
