Nobel Prize 2022 in Medicine or Physiology, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Peace, and Economic Sciences has been conferred. Here is the list:

Nobel Prize for Medicine or Physiology 2022

• Swedish geneticist, Svante Paabo has won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Medicine for discoveries on human evolution.
• This discovery provides understanding of how modern day humans evolved from extinct ancestors.
• He performed his research in Germany at the University of Munich and at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig.
• Prize consists of 10 million Swedish crowns ($900,357).

Nobel Physics Prize 2022

• The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics to Alain Aspect (France), John F. Clauser (USA) and Anton Zeilinger (Austria).
• For experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.
• John Clauser has developed John Bell’s ideas, Alain Aspect has developed the setup, and Anton Zeilinger, using refined tools and a long series of experiments.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2022

• The 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to Carolyn Bertozzi (USA), Morton Meldal (Denmark) and Barry Sharpless (USA).
• For their work on snipping molecules together which is known as click chemistry.
• Click chemistry is about linking together molecules like those in living cells.
• This study can explore cells and track biological processes; can be applied in cancer treatment drugs.

Nobel Prize in Literature 2022 

• The French writer, Annie Ernaux was awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in literature.
• For the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory.
• She is known for works that blur the line between memoir and fiction.
• She becomes the 17th female writer to have won the prize.
• Prize money for Nobel Prize in Literature is worth 10 million Swedish crowns.

Nobel Peace Prize 2022

• Ales Bialiatski (Belarusian human rights advocate), Memorial (Russian human rights organization) and Centre for Civil Liberties (Ukrainian human rights organization) have been jointly awarded 2022 Nobel Peace Prize.
• For promoting the right to criticize power and protecting the fundamental rights of citizens.
• This award was announced by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2022

• The 2022 Nobel Prize for Economics has been awarded to Ben S. Bernanke (USA), Douglas W. Diamond and Philip H. Dybvig for their research on banks and financial crises.
• Their research has significantly improved the understanding of the role of banks in the economy, particularly during financial crises.
• Diamond has demonstrated that how banks perform another societally important function.
• While, Ben Bernanke has analyzed the Great Depression of the 1930s.
• Prize consist of 10 million Swedish kronor, gold medal and a citation.

• Nobel Prize is a set of annual international awards conferred in several categories by Swedish and Norwegian institutions.
