National Film Awards for 2019 have been announced. The award is given by Directorate of Film Festivals under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting every year. The 67th National Film Awards have been announced in New Delhi to honour the best films of 2019, in the Indian cinema. It was originally going to be announced in May 2020, but due to coronavirus pandemic, it is being held now.

About 67th National Film Awards         

  • The 67th National Film Awards are being announced by the veteran filmmaker N Chandra, who headed the non-feature films jury as the chairperson.
  • The awards include both Feature and Non-feature films.
  • This 461 films were in the Feature Film category and 220 films competed in the Non-Feature Film category.

About National Film Awards


  • It is the highest award given for films in India and is organized every year
  • Established: 1954.
  • Aim: These awards are given for the best films in each region and language of the country which were produced in the previous year across the country.
  • Given by: Directorate of Film Festivals, an organization that comes under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, since 1973
  • Juries: Winners in different categories of these awards are selected by a national panel of Juries appointed by Union Government.
