Sri Gupta was the founder of the Gupta Dynasty. With his accession in 319–320 CE, Chandragupta I is regarded as the true progenitor of the Gupta Era. The Gupta era started in 319 A.D., the year he came to power. From that point forward, it was utilised in all of their documents as well as those of their feudatories. His new title was maharajadhiraja (king of kings). However, Chandragupta I is not mentioned in the Options; only Chandragupta II is. As a result, we selected the second-best choice.

Gupta Empire Origin
The ancestry of the Gupta family is unknown. The majority of the inscriptions and coin hoards from the early Gupta kings have been discovered in the lower-Doab region of present-day Uttar Pradesh, which supports the theory that they originated there. This notion is also considered to be supported by the Purana, which describes the Prayaga, Saketa, and Magadha provinces as the domain of the early Gupta kings in the Ganges basin.
