UPSC Vacancy is the number of posts to be filled by the Civil Services Examination, which the Union Public Service Commission conducts. Every year UPSC notifies the number of vacancies to be filled by the Civil Services Exam. The UPSC result 2023 has been published by the commission on 23rd May 2023, and along with it the UPSC Vacancy 2023 has also been released.
A total of 1022 candidates have been selected for the UPSC vacancy 2023, from which 933 candidates have been shortlisted and 178 candidates are on the reserve list. UPSC Vacancy 2023
UPSC conducts the Civil Services Examination to fill the vacancies for 24 civil services posts which include All India Services like IAS, Group A Civil Services, and Group B services. Candidates preparing for the CSE 2023 must keep the UPSC Vacancy 2023 in their minds.
UPSC Vacancy 2023 Category-Wise

UPSC Vacancy 2023: Post-Wise
The UPSC Result 2022 has been declared on 23 May 2023 on the official website. Along with the result, the commission has published the recruitment for UPSC Vacancies 2023. UPSC Vacancy Post-Wise [2019-2020]

Huge Increase in the UPSC Vacancy 2023
In comparison to the previous years, the UPSC 2023 Vacancy has seen a big jump. In 2021 the UPSC vacancies were only 712, and in 2023 the vacancy was 1011, and in 2023 the total number of vacancies is 1105. The UPSC UPSC 2023 Vacancy List can increase as well. The final vacancies can be more than the reported vacancies, and by the time final results are published after a 1-year long exam cycle, the vacancies can increase further. Stages to Fill UPSC Vacancy
Every year, UPSC conducts Civil Services Exam to fill the vacancies. This exam includes three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test. One must clear all three stages of the exam to be recruited for the UPSC Civil Services Posts.
- UPSC Prelims – This is the first stage of CSE. Prelims 2023 will be conducted on 28th May 2023, and the results will be declared a few weeks after the exam.
- UPSC Mains – The second stage of CSE is called Mains. Candidates who clear the Prelims are only eligible for this round.
- UPSC Personality Test – It is the final stage of the UPSC exam, and those who clear Mains can appear for the Personality test.
After clearing all three stages of the Civil Services Exam candidates will have to go through various training programs such as LBSNAA training, SVPNA training, etc. The training period can last for 2 years. After completing the training period, candidates will be recruited for various civil services posts based on UPSC Ranks, and preference.
UPSC Vacancy Trend
The UPSC vacancies have seen a massive drop from 2014 onwards. However, as to government data, there is a shortage of IAS officers and IPS officers in India. The commission is trying the meet the demand and reduce the shortage of IAS and IPS officers in the country. That is why UPSC Vacancy 2023 has seen a massive jump i.e. 1105.
