The CLAT Exam Counselling is conducted through a centralized process by NLUs. Candidates whose names are on the CLAT 2023 Merit List can attend this counselling process to get selected for final admission. So the candidates have to clear the CLAT Cut Off first to be a part of this counselling process for NLUs final admission.

CLAT Counselling 2023 is already started on 28 December 2022. The admission procedure for the 16th edition of the CLAT Exam, which is going to be conducted on 20 June 2023 will be similar to the previous years. The Consortium of NLUs publishes the merit list, followed by three lists of provisionally selected candidates. The provisionally selected candidates are invited for CLAT Counselling 2023 which is now conducting in online mode on the official website. Here, we are sharing all the details about CLAT Counselling Process 2023 official schedule, seat allotment, fees, and admission procedure below.

CLAT UG Counselling Schedule Date 2023

The following table shows the counselling and allotment stages in chronological order:

The counselling process for the CLAT 2023 is now ongoing in an online centralized system. The candidates must note one thing the CLAT Counselling process will be conducted separately for both UG and PG courses. The entire process will be done as per the official CLAT Exam Date declared by the exam authorities. Here are the detailed steps for the CLAT Counselling 2023 Registration process.

Step 1: Declaration of CLAT Result

After the declaration of CLAT Result and Merit List, all the shortlisted candidates will be called for the final admissions. CLAT Merit List will be available in on the official website. The first CLAT Counselling 2023 will be conducted on the merit-cum-preference basis of CLAT Scores

Step 2: Selection of NLUs

All the shortlisted candidates will be invited to register themselves to the official website of their desired NLUs individually. You can select 5 college preferences. But note that, the candidates will not be allowed to make any changes after the last date of the CLAT Counselling 2023 registration process. So, select the colleges very carefully as per your CLAT Cut Off.

Step 3: Payment of CLAT Counselling Fees

The candidates must submit CLAT Counselling 2023 Fees after selecting their preferred colleges. They have to pay INR 50000/- provisionally. It is suggested to pay CLAT Counselling Fees online by login into the official website. Only candidates who participate in the CLAT Counselling 2023 will be evaluated for the seat allotment process. Step 4: CLAT Seat Allotment

Following the registration of candidates, the CLAT Seat Allotment lists are released on the official website. Candidates who have not been assigned a seat will be given one in the next round of seat allocations.

Step 5: End of CLAT Counselling 2023

Candidates who have been assigned a place in their preferred college have three options:

• Withdrawal from CLAT Seat Allotment: Candidates who withdraw from the CLAT Seat Allotment process forfeit their seats and will not be eligible for future seat allotments.

Refund Rules for CLAT Counselling Fees

• If a candidate does not get a seat after the release of three lists by the Consortium, a total amount of Rs. 50,000/- will be refunded to them without any deduction.
• If a candidate chooses to exit the CLAT Counselling Process 2023 or does not accept any of the seats offered in any of the three lists notified by the Consortium, a number of Rs. 40,000/- will only be refunded. Check previous year's CLAT Exam Analysis.
• If a candidate is found ineligible based on the documents/information provided by him/her, a number of Rs. 40,000/- will only be refunded.

Option 1: If you have been newly allotted a seat in a provisional list, please log in to your account and do the following. Stay updated with the CLAT Answer Key Release Date.

1.1 Excercise option

• Accept the allotted seat (Locking the seat)
• Exit from CLAT Counselling 2023 Process

1.2 Upload your documents

• Please contact the allotted NLU for information about the documents to upload and complete the same.
• After uploading all the required documents, click on the submit button. The candidates must download CLAT Question Paper and start solving to improve accuracy.

1.3 Make payment

• Please contact the allotted university for fee payment details and complete the same. After it is done, update the fee payment information in your CLAT 2023 Account.

2.2 Upload your documents

• If there is a change in the university allotted or if you got a seat under a different category in the same university, please contact the allotted university for information about the documents to upload and complete the same.
• After uploading all the required documents, click on the submit button.

2.3 Make payment

• If there is a change in the university, please contact the allotted university for fee payment details and complete the same. Get CLAT Study Plan to ace the exam in one chance.
• You might have to pay any difference amount as specified by the university. After completing the fee payment, update the payment information in your CLAT account.
• It is mandatory to update your payment information in your login account.

Options Available after CLAT Seat Allotment

Candidates who are allotted the seats for the first time in the list will have the consequent options and need to follow the CLAT Counselling Process as described below:

1. The candidate must agree to the allocated seat. (Lock the seat)
2. The candidate can Exit from the CLAT Counselling 2023.

Important Note: If any of the above-given i.e., (a) or (b) options are not exercised, within the specified time, it shall be assumed that the candidate is not interested in the CLAT Admission Process and the candidature will not be cancelled. Candidates having their names on the merit list should have the following documents at the time of CLAT Counselling:

• CLAT 2023 Application Form
• CLAT Admit Card 2023
• CLAT Score Card 2023
• Marks-sheet and Certificate (Class 10th and 12th)
• Caste Certificate (If applicable)
• NRI Certificate and Sponsored NRI Certificate (If applicable)
• Specially-Abled Certificate (If applicable)
• Domicile Certificate (If applicable)
• Call Letter issued by CLAT Exam authority
• Recent passport-size photographs

The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd list of provisionally selected candidates will be published separately by each of the 22 NLUs. As per the latest official update CLAT 2023 Merit List (1st) will be published on 18 January 2023. The CLAT Merit List of candidates presented by each NLU will contain the below details.
