CLAT Counseling 2021

The CLAT counselling 2021 begins after the declaration of CLAT result 2021 from 29 July 2021. The admission procedure for the 14th edition of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) which has been conducted on 23rd July 2021 is similar to the previous years. This year, the consortium of National Law Universities will publish the CLAT merit list, followed by three lists of provisionally selected candidates. The provisionally selected candidates are invited for Counseling which is conducted in online mode. We are sharing all the details about CLAT Counselling 2021 schedule, seat allotment, and admission procedure below.

The counselling process starts with the online registration which will be followed by filling preferences for NLUs. The candidates need to submit the counselling fee to take part in the counselling. Candidates will be allotted seats based on their preferences and the rank secured by them. The CLAT counselling and seat allocation process will be conducted in online mode tentatively.

CLAT Counselling Process 2021

To seal their allotted seats and attend counselling, the shortlisted candidates will be required to pay a CLAT counselling fee of 50,000 INR. Failure in payment of counselling fee will result in the cancellation of allotment to the selected candidate.

In many undergraduate law entrance examinations like SLAT, the pen-paper entrance test is followed by a Group discussion (GD) or a Personal Interview (PI) round. However, the admission procedure in CLAT 2021 doesn’t include any GD or PI round, and the candidates are shortlisted based on their secured rank in the CLAT entrance examination which will be conducted in offline mode.

After successful conduction of examination and declaration of Merit List, the shortlisted candidates are called for counselling. After attending counselling and payment of counselling fee and other dues within the requisite time slots and presenting required Documents (12th Marksheet, age proof, address proof, etc.) before the concerned NLU’s administrative authorities the admission is successfully finalized and the candidate officially becomes the student of that respective NLU.
