How does Toto come to grandfather’s private zoo?

Toto was kept chained to a feeding trough by his owner, a tonga driver. Grandfather thought the monkey didn't belong there. So he made the decision to incorporate the little monkey into his own zoo. For five rupees, he purchased Toto from the tonga-driver.
