Determine the required rational numbers
Any integer that can be represented as p/q, with q ≠ 0, is referred to as a rational number.
Given two rational numbers ⅔ and ⅘:
By multiplying the numerator and denominator of ⅔ by 15, we get, 30/45
By multiplying the numerator and denominator of ⅘ by 9, we get, 36/45
Therefore, the rational numbers between 30/45 and 36/45 are 31/45, 32/45, 33/45, 34/45 and 35/45.
Therefore, the five rational numbers between ⅔ and ⅘ are 31/45, 32/45, 33/45, 34/45, and 35/45.
Summary:
Find five rational numbers between 2/3 and 4/5.
The five rational numbers between ⅔ and ⅘ are 31/45, 32/45, 33/45, 34/45 and 35/45. The outcome of dividing a rational number, or fraction, will be a decimal number, either a terminating decimal or a repeating decimal.
