The important formulas in the chapter force and laws of motion are equations of motion, gravitational force, force, acceleration due to gravity, equations of motion for motion under gravitational force, and the law of conservation of linear momentum.
Table of content
Equations of Motion
- The first equation of Motion: v = u + at
- Second equation of Motion: s = ut + ½ at2
- Third equation of Motion: 2as = v2 – u2
- Gravitational force: F = Gm1m2/d2
- Force: F = ma
- Acceleration due to gravity: Gm/R2
- Weight: W = mg
- Law of Conservation of linear momentum: mAvA + mBvB = mAuA + mBuB
Equations of motion for motion under gravitational force:
- v = u + at
- h = ut + ½ gt2
- v2 – u2 = 2gh
First Law of Motion of Newton
According to Newton’s First Law, a body in uniform motion or at rest will remain in that state up to and unless a net external force acts on it.
Second Law of Motion by Newton
According to Newton’s second law, an object’s acceleration caused by a net force is directly proportional to the force’s magnitude, moving in the same direction as the force, and inversely proportional to the mass of the object.
The Third Law of Motion by Newton
Every action has an equal and opposite response, according to Newton’s third law.
Summary:
Important formulas in the chapter force and laws of motion.
Equations of motion, gravitational force, force, acceleration due to gravity, equations of motion for motion under gravitational force, and the law of conservation of linear momentum are some of the key formulas in the chapter on force and laws of motion.
