Instead of 10 km/hr if a person walks at 14 km/hr, he could have traveled 20km more. The actual distance traveled by him is 50km.
It is given that:
A person walks about 14 km/h instead of 10 km/h
He can walk 20 km more.
We can use the formula
Speed = Distance/Time
Let us calculate
Let x be the time in hours
From the question
14x – 10x = 20
By subtraction
4x = 20
Dividing both sides by 4
x = 5 hours
Actual speed = 10 km/h
Actual distance = 10 × 5 = 50 km.
Hence, 50 km is the actual distance.
Summary:
If a person walks at 14 km/hr instead of 10 km/hr, he would have walked 20km more. The actual distance travelled by him is – (a) 50 km (b) 70 km (c) 56 km (d) 80 km
A person would have travelled 20 km further if he had walked at a speed of 14 km/h rather than 10 km/h. He has actually travelled 50 kilometres.
