(a) 2v1v2/ v1 + v2

(b) 5v1v2/3v1 + 2v2

(c) ½ √v1v2

(d) v1 + v2/2

The average speed is 5v1v2/ 3v1 + 2v2. Steps to find out the average speed of a car:

Step 1: Given that

V1 speed covers 2/5th of the whole distance.

3/5ths of a distance at v2 speed

Step 2: Now we have to find the average speed

Let’s say the car travelled x distance overall.

Accordingly, the time it took the car to travel the entire distance is:

t = 2x/5/ v1 + 3x/5/ v2

Therefore, the car’s average speed is determined by:

Average speed = total distance/ total time

Or

x/t = x/ [2x/5/ v1 + 3x/5/ v2] = 5v1v2/ 3v1 + 2v2

Hence the average speed is 5v1v2/ 3v1 + 2v2.

The overall distance travelled by an object in a specific amount of time is the definition of the average speed for an object. You can figure it out by dividing the overall distance travelled by the overall amount of time required. When an object travels a distance at a variety of speeds, its average speed is the speed at which, if the object moves uniformly, it will travel the same distance in the same amount of time.

Summary:

## If a car covers 2/5th of the total distance with v1 speed and 3/5th distance with v2 then speed then, the average speed is.

If a car covers 2/5th of the total distance with v1 speed and 3/5th distance with v2 then speed, the average speed is 5v1v2/ 3v1 + 2v2.
