Examples of opative sentences are ‘Best wishes!’, ‘Good luck!’, ‘Wish you a wonderful day.’ etc. Optative sentences express strong wishes, prayers, curses, etc. These sentences usually start with “may” and “wish”. You may also find these sentences beginning with “let”.

Using Opative Sentences

Opative sentences usually begin with verbs such as ”wish”, “may”, “have” and “let”. It’s also a phrase to wish someone on a special occasion, like ‘Happy Birthday. For choice phrase punctuation, it usually starts with a capital letter and ends with an exclamation point. However, in rare cases, it may end with a period.
