Optimist is too cheerful as pessimism is too gloomy.
1) A person with a positive outlook is an optimist.
2) A pessimist is someone with a depressing perspective.
3) Option 2 is not the correct response since a pessimist need not be vindictive.
4) Options 3 and 4 are inaccurate as well because neither adjective accurately sums up a pessimist’s attitude.
Consequently, gloom is the right response.

Optimist’s Behavior
Optimism is a behavior that indicates hope or belief that the outcomes in general, or the outcome of some specific endeavor, will be favorable, positive, and desirable. An idiom used to show optimism versus pessimism is a glass that is filled with water to half: an optimist sees the glass as half full, whereas a pessimist observes the glass as half empty.
The term is derived from the Latin optimum, which means est. Being optimistic is expecting the best outcome from a given situation. It is referred to as dispositional optimism in psychology. It shows a belief that future conditions will work out for the best. For this purpose, it is observed as a trait that fosters resilience in the face of stress.
