A non-terminating but recurring decimal is a rational number. The term “rational numbers” refers to all numbers that can be transformed into the p/q form, where p and q are both integers and q0.

### Non-terminating but Recurring Decimal

A decimal that never ends but repeatedly repeats one or more values following the decimal point is known as non-terminating but repeating decimal.

Example for Non-terminating but recurring decimal: 0. 5555……, 0.171717……, 0.15222222…

These numbers are also written in the form of p/q.

i.e 0.5555……. = 5/9, 0.171717…… = 17/99 etc.

Therefore, a decimal that repeats but does not terminate is always a rational number. Examples of rational numbers are 3/4, 1/5, 1/2, etc.

Summary:

## A non-terminating but recurring decimal is? (a) A natural number (b) An integer (c) A whole number (d) A rational number

A decimal that repeats but does not terminate is always a rational number. A number can be expressed as the fraction or quotient p/q of two integers, a numerator p, and a non-zero denominator q.
