What happens in Language Proficiency Test in NIACL Assistant Exam?

Dear Aspirants,

First of all, Congratulations to all the selected candidates. The result of NIACL Assistant Mains 2018 Exam was declared on 29th October 2018. The Main Examination held on 6th October 2018.

The exam was conducted in two stages: Prelims & Mains Exam. It is not followed by a personal interview like the NIACL AO exam.

Many of you have been provisionally shortlisted for the Regional Language test which is scheduled to be held on 24th & 25th November 2018.

There are many queries and doubts occurred in the minds of the candidates about the process of Regional Language test. So, in this article, we are sharing with you the ‘Process of Regional Language test.’

First, let us discuss what exactly is a ‘Provisional Selection’?

A provisional selection means you are almost selected but not final. It does not mean an offer of employment i.e. if at any recruitment stage; it is found that the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility his candidature would be canceled.

  • Provisional selection is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the main examination.
  • Candidates who qualified in the Mains Exam will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective states and categories.

As there is no Interview Process for the post of Assistant in NIACL, the final selection will be done after the language proficiency test and document verification.

NIACL has released the Admit Card for the Language proficiency test.

As per the official notification, the final selection will be subject to:

1. Verification of the documents, certificates, and eligibility for the post and information furnished in the online application form.

2. Language Proficiency Test – Qualifying in the test of specified opted language.

About Document Verification

Candidates need to carry the documents & certificates which have to produce during the document verification process. Below are the lists of the documents & certificates that need to produce in original with Xerox copy:

  • Birth Certificate/High School Certificate (10th pass) (for verification of date of birth)
  • Education Qualification Certificate: Candidates should have 10th, 12th standards mark sheet and certificates. Graduation mark sheet (semester wise) & degree (final certificate).
  • Id – proof – PAN Card/Aadhar Card/ Driver license / voter ID/ Passport etc.
  • Category/Caste Certificate: – OBC/SC/ST candidates should submit their caste certificate issued by appropriate authority (as per the central government format).
  • Military Discharge Certificate (in case appointment of ex-servicemen).
  • Certificate for handicapped category issued by CMO/competent authority stating therein the nature and extent of handicap.
  • NOC Certificate – Candidates serving in Government/ quasi-govt offices/Public Sector Undertakings (including Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions) and other institutions are required to produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of Regional Language Test.
  • Three passport size photographs.

Note: In case the candidate belongs to SC/ST/OBC category, please produce a valid caste Certificate.

 About the Language Proficiency Test

  • Since this recruitment is being conducted state wise. So, a candidate must have the knowledge of the Local /Official language (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) of the state.
  • This local language test will be conducted to check the proficiency of candidates in speaking, reading and writing the opted local language.
  • This test will be conducted after provisional selection but before the joining process

 Note:

  • The Regional Language Test will be of qualifying nature only. No Scores will be allotted for the same.
  • The candidates who not found to be proficient in opted local language would be disqualified and would not be eligible for any further process.

The process of Language Proficiency Test

The language proficiency test will be conducted, after the completion of the document verification process. It will be conducted in three parts –

1. Writing – The first part of the language proficiency test will be ‘Writing’. NIACL Officers will dictate some lines or paragraph from the local newspaper or book and you have to write it down in the blank sheet with proper grammar and spelling.

2. Reading – The second part of the language proficiency test will be ‘Reading’. You have to read a paragraph from the local newspaper without stumbling, pausing where ‘।’ this symbol appears.

3. Speaking – The third part of the language proficiency test will be ‘Speaking’. You have to speak on any subject in front of all the candidates appeared for the test. Also, they can ask some random questions and you have to give an answer in a local language.

For e.g. – They can ask from which city did you belong, and you have to say some line about your city in the local language.

Final selection

The appointment letter will be issued to you by the competent authority after successful qualification in language proficiency test, completion of other formalities like verification of original certificates, etc.

  • Merit list will be finalized category wise and State Wise.
  • After the final selection, candidates are absorbed in the organization as an assistant in branches of the NIACL across any district of the same state.

 Probation Period: The newly appointed Assistant will be on probation for a minimum period of 6 months.

Note: If you have done mistake in mentioning some information in your application then it is advisable to carry ‘AFFIDAVIT’ of the same, which you can produce during the document verification.

For e.g. – Some candidates by mistake fill the wrong Date of Birth, or their name varies in High School & Graduation Certificates.

At last, 

  • Start practicing for the language proficiency test.
  • Do practice at home.
  • Start writing, reading & speaking paragraph lines from the local newspaper.
  • Also, be ready with all the relevant documents & certificates for the document verification round.
