IBPS PO Mains Exam is scheduled on 30th November 2019. One of the most sought-after exams of Government sector IBPS PO Mains 2019 is now just one month away. IBPS PO Prelims result is yet awaited, but you should not delay your preparations for Mains Exam. So, today we are sharing a one month/30 Days Study plan to help the candidates in planning out their preparations in a better way.

Before moving on to the study plan, you should follow the below mentioned important tips during your preparation in order to sail through IBPS PO Mains –

1. Focus on High-Level Questions – 

Last year the level of the question in IBPS PO Mains Exam was very tough. Focus on preparing the hard level and challenging questions of the topic mentioned in this study plan 

2. Be thorough with New pattern questions –

Be it coding-decoding, syllogism or error spotting questions, there is a new pattern introduced in a recent exam. Practice them well.

3. Make General Awareness your strength  –

Among the increasing toughness of the sections, General awareness can prove to be the most scoring section for you if you prepare it well. Must cover the below-mentioned topic of the General Awareness section.

4. Do not skip reading Newspaper –

Newspaper reading helps a lot. It increases your English reading habit, enhances your vocab. Also, it is the best way to stay updated with the current affairs for General Awareness as well as for the Descriptive Test.

5. Practice with a timer –

Practicing with a stopwatch is a must. Sometimes you know how to solve a question, but all you lack is time and speed.

6. Note down important points, formulas, short tricks –

Preparing handy notes is very useful for the last time revision so that you do not miss anything important.

7. Do not mug up concepts, apply them in questions – 

Once you learn a concept, apply it to questions. In this way, you will not forget it.

8. Rely on quality study material –

Your preparation material should be good in quality, not in quantity. 

9. Mock test will be your savior –

Give mock tests as often you can. Mock tests are the best way to increase speed, calculation skills. Also, it is the only way to analyze and check out your preparations.

30 Days Study Plan for IBPS PO Mains 2019

Day 1-5:

Data Interpretation and Analysis –

Questions in this section will be mainly of Data Interpretation and analysis, but these will be asked in Combination with arithmetic Topics. Also, Number series and Quadratic Equations can be asked. So Focus on Data Interpretation and analysis questions the most, but do not ignore any topic and be familiar with the concepts of each topic.

In the first five days, Brush up your Basic Concepts of Mathematics, which are :

  • Tables, Square and Cubes, Square roots & Cube Roots
  • Number System
  • HCF & LCM
  • Number Series
  • Shortcuts of finding Square roots, cube roots, addition, multiplication, division, and subtraction

Reasoning & Computer Aptitude –

Focus on the following chapters in the first four days. Try to understand and learn each and every concept of these chapters from which the questions can be asked :

  • Inequality
  • Syllogism

English Language –

Good knowledge of Grammar rules and Errors is required to sail through the English Section. In the first five days, Go through the following topics :

  • Rules and Common Errors of Tenses, Noun, Pronoun, Articles, Verb, Adjectives, Adverbs 
  • 10 English Words each day
  • Antonyms/Synonyms

General Awareness –

Mainly focus on covering the static Banking awareness syllabus in these 5 days. You can find approximately 15 questions in this exam from the static banking awareness concepts. The main topics included in this are : 

History of Banking , Nationalization of Banks , Banking Terms, Banking Abbreviations ,All about RBI , Important things related to NABARD , NBFC and International organization (IMF, World Bank. ADB ,NDB ) ,Bank rates ,Bank accounts, Cheques ,Monetary Policy ,  Money market ,Capital market , Important things regarding BASEL ,Important banking acts(SARFAESI etc) and committees  ,NPA , Priority Sector Lending , RTGS ,NEFT Mobile Banking , Internet Banking ,Headquarters of Indian banks , insurance companies and Important monetary authorities around the world.

Day 5-10:

Data Interpretation and Analysis –

Once you are done with very basic concepts of Maths and other calculation short tricks which are going to help you in Faster Calculation, Try to understand each concept of the following Chapters :

  • Ratio & Proportion
  • Average 
  • Percentage
  • Profit and Loss

Reasoning & Computer Aptitude –

Cover the following chapters attentively in this time-span :

  • Blood Relation 
  • Direction
  • Order & Ranking

English Language –

  • Rules and Common errors of Proposition, Conjunction, Conditional Sentences, etc.
  • Phrases, Idioms
  • Error Spotting Exercise

General Awareness –

You may find around 10 questions from Banking and finance related to current affairs. Cover Current Banking Awareness. Learn all the :

Recent schemes, committees, acts, appointments, new apps by different banks and government, new rules and regulations regarding banking system . in the banking and finance sector recently. Learn news related to work done by IMF, World Bank, ADB etc. monetary authorities in India. After covering banking and finance-related current affairs, move on to national and state-wise current affairs. Learn all the new schemes and Pradhan Mantri Yojnas launched,

Day 10-15:

Data Interpretation and Analysis –

Now, as you have covered the topics which are included in questions of Data Interpretation and analysis, it’s time to go to the Data Interpretation itself –

  • Table Chart 
  • Bar Graph

Reasoning & Computer Aptitude –

Below three topics can be asked in a new pattern and level can be very tough. So be prepared for the hard level of following topics –

  • Coding-decoding
  • Input-Output
  • Alphanumeric Series

English Language –

Cover the following chapters. Understand the concepts, correct method of doing and then solve exercise – 

  • Sentence Improvement 
  • Sentence Formation 
  • Sentence Rearrangement
  • Sentence Starter

General Awareness –

Must over the following from the current affairs in this section –

Recent Sports tournaments, recent awards, book, defense exercises, and international current affairs and then analyze what is left from the current affairs section of the last 5-6 months. Try to cover them in a fixed time.

Day 15-20:

Data Analysis and Interpretation –

Cover the following DI topics  –

  • Line Chart
  • Pie Chart
  • Radar Chart

Reasoning & Computer Aptitude –

Cover the below-mentioned topics –

  • Puzzles (Floor/Box Puzzle, Tabular puzzle )
  • Seating Arrangement (Linear seating arrangement, circular seating arrangement, Square Seating Arrangement)

General Awareness – 

Focus on Static General Knowledge in these 5 days. The main topics which you should focus on are :

Capitals of Indian states and countries. Currencies of countries, Important monuments, Dams, Wildlife sanctuaries, temples. Chief ministers and governor of each Indian state, Important Dances, Tribes, and other relevant static gk.

Also, revise Banking Awareness topics.

English Langauge 

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Cloze Test
  • Fillers

Day 20-25:

Data Interpretation and Analysis –

  • Mixed DI/Combination DI
  • Missing DI
  • Casellete DI

Reasoning and Computer Aptitude –

  • Logical Reasoning
  • Data Sufficiency
  • Number System of Computer (Binary, Decimal, Octal, Hexadecimal)
  • Conversion (Binary to Decimal Conversion, Binary to Octal Conversion, Binary to Hexadecimal Conversion, Octal to hexadecimal conversion, Octal to Decimal Conversion and Vice-versa )

English Language – 

  • Para-completion
  • Odd one out (Theme based questions)
  • Sentence Connectors

General Awareness –

  • Cover the GK tornado in this time span. 
  • Revise the important points that you have noted down.


Day 25-30:

  • The last 5 days are very important. No matter how hard you studied, a proper revision is always required to perform well in the examination. 
  • Do not pick up new chapters in the last 5 days. Focus on revising and strengthening each and everything which you have already studied.
  • Give mock tests regularly in the last 5 days. Analyze them very well.

Descriptive Test Preparation:

A descriptive test will start right after the completion of the Objective test. 

  • Having a good typing speed is the foremost requirement for performing good in the descriptive test. To enhance your typing speed, write an essay, letter or anything of your choice on MS Word as per your available time.
  • Stay updated with the happenings around the world. The letters and Essays are somehow related to relevant or trendy topics.
  • Cover as many topics as you can. You can try to cover one essay topic and one letter topic on alternate days in this 30 days study plan.
