1. IBPS Clerk Last week tips for Numerical Ability
First, a quick look at the topics and questions asked last year in this section:
- Number series – 5 questions
- Simplification / Approximation – 15 questions
- Data Interpretation – 5 questions
- Miscellaneous – 10 Questions
However, given the varying trend of IBPS Exams this year, you can also expect questions from topics like Quadratic Equations, more DI Questions etc.
Now, let’s see how you can utilize your time in these remaining 7 days in the best way possible to score better in this section.
- You calculation speed will play a crucial role in determining your success in this exam. So, work on it.
- For this purpose, learn and revise tables up to at least 30. Go through the squares, square roots, cubes and cube roots of common numbers (up to 25). Make sure that you revise this on a regular basis so that you remember them at the time of the exam. You should ensure that you devote at least 30 minutes to this practice daily.
- Practice Simplification/ Approximation questions thoroughly making use of BODMAS rules. This will also help you speed up your calculations. Try to solve at least 20-30 questions from this topic per day.
- Look up the common patterns of Number Series questions to have a clear idea of the type of questions that might be asked in the exam.
- Spend at least 2 hours per day on the practice of individual topics of this section. Make sure that you check out the solutions to the questions that you attempt. This way, you’ll also know short tricks to solve the questions, which would, in turn, save your time in the exam.
- Go through your daily study plan for the Quantitative Aptitude section before the exam below and make sure that you practice questions in this time frame on a regular basis.

- Phrase Replacement – 5 Questions

- Mis-spelt words – 5 Questions
However, we would recommend you to prepare topics like Fill in the blanks (new & old pattern), sentence improvement, sentence connectors, para jumbles etc as well.
