UPPSC AE Selection Process 2022
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) prescribes the UPPSC AE selection process for the post of Assistant Engineer into the Commission. Thus, in order to get qualified for an appointment to the post, you must be well known about the selection process. The selection for UPPSC AE recruitment 2022 is done through the following two major stages:
- Stage 1: UPPSC AE Written Exam
- Stage 2: UPPSC AE Interview and Document Verification
A candidate would need to qualify each stage to move to the subsequent stages. For any competitive exam, it is of utmost importance that students possess a thorough understanding of the exam pattern. Thus, the exam pattern forms a major part of the UPPSC AE selection process. The UPPSC AE Exam Pattern is divided into two sections, Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- The UPPSC AE Paper 1 consists of two subjects, General Hindi and Engineering-Related Subject.
- The UPPSC AE Paper 2 also consists of two sections, General Studies and a core subject based on the candidate’s educational background.
- All the questions will be in the form of objective-type-questions (MCQs).
- Each paper will have 125 questions which means the entire UPPSC AE 2022 Exam will carry 250 questions.
- In both papers, each question will carry 3 marks making the entire UPPSC AE Exam 2022 of 750 marks.
- Students must note that there is a negative marking of 1 mark in both papers for every wrong answer.
- The duration for each paper in the UPPSC AE Exam 2022 is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

UPPSC AE Selection Process for Interview
After written exams are conducted and Commission declared the result of the written exam. The candidates who obtain the cut off marks in the written exam are called to appear for the next stage of the UPPSC AE selection process, which is the interview. The UPPSC AE merit list shall be decided only for those candidates who will take part in the UPPSC AE 2022 Interview.
- The UPPSC Assistant Engineer Interview will carry a total of 100 marks.
- Apart from the UPPSC AE interview, all the necessary documents will also be verified during the interview like educational certificates, letters of experience, proof of residence, and passport-size photographs.
- Once the interview is conducted, the commission will release the list of selected students based on their performances in the UPPSC Asst. Engg. and interview process.
- These shortlisted candidates will be offered the coveted jobs of Assistant Engineers in the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

List of Documents for UPPSC Assistant Engineer Interview
Here is a list of documents that must be carried by you during the UPPSC Assistant Engineer interview. The UPPSC AE selection process shall be considered only if you bring all the original documents along with a photocopy of the same for the interview.
- Print out of UPPSC AE Interview Call Letter/Admit Card
- Govt. issued ID Proof such as Aadhar Card, PAN card
- Attestation Form (in original) with affixed signed photographs
- Educational mark-sheets and certificates of 10th, 12th, Graduation
- Photocopy and original copy of caste certificate, if any
- Discharge certificate by Ex-servicemen
- Passport size photographs
- Age relaxation certificate, if any
Final Selection for UPPSC AE 2022 – Merit List Declaration
The final selection process for the UPPSC AE exam will be done for the candidates on the marks obtained by the candidates in the written exam and interview. The candidates who will score greater marks shall be placed higher in the merit of the UPPSC AE Selection Process 2022. Hence, it is advisable that you try to score maximum marks in the written exam as it is comparatively easier to score in the written exam, i.e. Paper 1 & Paper 2.
