NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2017- Cut-off Marks, Shortlisted Candidates, Test and Interview Dates Announced

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has released minimum GATE 2017 cut-off marks and the list of Candidates whose applications are shortlisted for the post of Engineering Executive Trainees through GATE 2017. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Online Aptitude Test in different slots, followed by Group discussion and Personal Interview which is conducted on the next day of the online exam.

GATE 2017 Cutoff for NTPC Recruitment

Based on the GATE-2017 Cutoff marks and requirement, candidates are shortlisted for appearing in the Online Aptitude Test.The online aptitude test is only qualifying in nature.

• No weightage of the same will be carried forward in the final merit list. The result of the online test will be declared on the same day at the test venue itself.
• The Online test shall consist of 120 multiple choice objective questions of two hours duration.
• The indicative syllabus is given below:
  • Vocabulary & Reading Comprehension- 30 questions
  • Quantitative Aptitude- 30 questions
  • Data Interpretation- 30 questions
  • Logical Reasoning- 30 questions
• Each question carries one mark for a correct answer and -.25 for the wrong answer.
• Qualifying marks in Online test is
  • 40% for General Category Candidates 
  • 30% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates
• Candidates qualifying the online aptitude test will have to report for the Group Discussion and Interview process immediately on next day (i.e. one day after the test)
  • Reporting time for the interview: 08:00 AM

• Candidates need to secure minimum qualifying marks each in Group Discussion and Interview separately, before being considered in the merit list.
• The final merit list will be prepared based on
  • GATE-2017 marks (calculated out of 85),
  • GD marks (out of 5) 
  • Interview marks (out of 10)
