Engineering exams conducted by various government departments and PSU's are preferred mostly by engineering graduates after GATE Exam. Usually, GATE Exam is also avoided by many engineering graduates due to its high level as compared to other exams. This makes the candidates shift their focus to other PSU's, Central Engineering and State Engineering exams.

The general pattern for most of the Engineering exams(except GATE, BARC, ISRO) comprises questions on Engineering knowledge along with Non Technical section consisting of General Awareness, Static G.K., Reasoning (Verbal & Non-Verbal), Quantitative aptitude and lastly English. Being an engineering graduate, technical sections are easily scored, but candidates mostly get stuck in Non-Technical Section esp G.K.
