DRDO Scientist B Recruitment 2021: Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) released the recruitment notification of Scientist B DRDO through GATE 2021. DRDO Scientist B Selection Process: Check all the methods in selection procedure of DRDO Scientist B

Selection Process For DRDO:

  • Candidates appearing will be shortlisted based on their GATE Score and/or Descriptive Examination or percentage of marks in NET. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for the Personal Interview. 
  • The final selection of the candidates will be made on the will be decided according to the number of vacancies, merit wise.

Process of Shortlisting : 

For Recruitment based on a valid GATE Score

Candidates with a valid GATE Score will have to give a Descriptive Examination(Written Examination) followed by a Personal Interview.

  • Category I: Candidates will be shortlisted for a Descriptive Examination based on their valid GATE score in the ratio of 1:25. The GATE Score of the candidates should not be below 25% of the first shortlisted candidate.
  • Category II: All IIT and NIT graduate engineers with a minimum of 80% aggregate marks in the EQ degree are eligible. They will be called for the Descriptive Exam.
  • The Candidates who appear for the Descriptive Examination will be further shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 for a Personal Interview in order of merit. Merit list will be prepared based on the Written Exam only.

Details of Descriptive Examination

  • The Written Examination will be a Descriptive Type Exam consisting of two papers of 300 marks each. It will be conducted in two sessions. Each session will be for 3 hours. 
  • The syllabus of the Descriptive Examination is similar to the syllabus of the Engineering Services Examination (Main) of the respective discipline conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates can download the syllabus from the official RAC website.
  • The Descriptive Examination will be organized offline, i.e. in paper-based format.
  • The Descriptive Examination will be tentatively organized at DRDO centres in seven cities and other common centres if the need arises. Cities are Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, and Pune.
  • Candidates must specify their preference of examination centre in the online application form among the listed centres.

For Recruitment based on the valid score of GATE 2022:

Candidate selection by GATE 2022 which will be followed by the Personal Interview

  • Shortlisting of the candidates for the Personal Interview will be done based on the valid GATE score in the ratio of 1:5 subjected to the availability in the order of discipline‐wise category‐wise merit list.

Recruitment based on NET

Eligible Candidates will be shortlisted further for Personal Interviews based on their Aggregate Percentage marks of NET.

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview from the candidates who have qualified for Assistant Professor. Based on the aggregate percentage of marks in the NET, candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5, subjected to the availability of vacancies in order of category-wise merit list.
