ISRO 'SC' Exam ME 2016- Analysis of Examination

ISRO Scientist/Engineer 'SC' Exam 2016 for Mechanical Engineering was conducted on 3rd July 2016 in the second slot. Through this post we will be covering the Weightage Analysis and Overall Analysis of the Exam.

Weightage Analysis of ISRO Mechanical Engineering Exam: 

Here we are providing approx number of questions from each subject and marks weightage of that subject:

  • Material Science- 2 questions (6 marks)
  • Basic Physics/Engineering Mechanics: 14 questions (42 marks)
  • Fluid Mechanics and Fluid  Machinery: 13 questions (39 marks)
  • Engineering Mathematics: 4 questions (12 Marks)
  • Heat Transfer: 9 questions( 27 marks)
  • Machine design: 2 questions (6 marks)
  • Production: 8 questions (24 marks)
  • Strength of Materials: 7 questions (21 marks)

Overall Analysis of Exam:

  • Expected cutoff  will be around 130 Marks.
  • Paper difficulty level is medium but it  was more calculation based as compared to last year which made question paper lengthy.
  • Very few repetitive questions from previous GATE and ISRO Exams
  • No question was included from Theory of Machines & Vibrations and Industrial Engineering.
  • Most of the questions were from Basic Physics, Strength of Materials and Fluid Mechanics.

ISRO will be providing official answer keys in coming days, so candidates should wait for it and should not get dishearten if answers do not match according to any institutes respective answer key.
